Never quite thought about this, but the term, "Prices are out of this World"-

That really does have two completely opposite and interchangeable meanings, huh.

    :D

I am glad I took so many photos of that place. I have hundreds of them. Wide shots, closeups. I could have spent a week there documenting each one but nobody was funding me and that takes time away from my real job.

    Yeah but it's still depressing.

John, @redelf, are you going to buy any of the machines?

There are some great cocktails in there as well.

Does anyone from TG live close to Banning in CA, for an auction pickup?

And is anyone going to the auction on site to bid? What are you planning to buy?

The furthest I've been from downtown LA is San Pedro to see the USS Iowa, but Banning is a long way east.

Some of the most fantastic machines I have ever seen are ther. Joust 2 player pinball! Space Oddysey modified to have NASA recordings of astronauts. /tears

I'm not too far from there. About an hour drive. I might stop by just to say wassup to some of the auction crew and I probably know dozens of people bidding. Anything I want will probably go higher than I would bid. Like that Golgo sniper game. I heard they already cleared 1 million in total sales as of yesterday.

I'll be kicking myself if Darius, Nemesis and Lock N Chase go for cheap.

Wow, that's a lot of dollar assets that was tied up in pinball and video games. Who owns all of the equipment, and why did they sell?

I thought Twin Galaxies under Jace Hall heralded this place as VIP some years ago. Now it's going to disappear. Is this is a further sign of what is going to happen to arcade gaming? Walter is in his 70s, and the DK court cases are not nice to see happening.

Never seen that Golgo game before. I like all of the cocktails though, and the 70s arcade games. They are very rare and look great.

Make a bid for each, so if you win, you'll get them at a good price.

Long story cut short: They were moving to a bigger location in Palm Springs. The timing to get out of Banning and into the new place didn't work out. There was no place to store all the games in the transition and he decided to sell. Some say it was lack of motivation and loss of interest.

I'm not into online out of state auctions, to pricey, taxes, fees, shipping and other hassles.

This is just another sad case of what the cough has done. Grinkers Arcade in Idaho and now this one in Banning. Replay FX I also believe is or has sold off their pinball collection.

It's very sad what has happened to these people that ran these events or arcades, their lives have been torn apart along with those in the community that go to these events.

I checked out some of the winning bids on the arcade machines sold so far, and the prices are very high. The original machines are slowly but surely disappearing from the face of the earth ...

Lot 294 Xevious at $2000 with 16 bids.

Lot 736 Track & Field at $2500 with 13 bids.

Lot 307 Donkey Kong at $2900 with 13 bids (The 2 x Q*bert machines sold at a much higher price than this DK)

Lot 299 Rampage at $3400 with 18 bids.

Lot 748 Circus Charlie at $3400 with 14 bids.

Lot 188 Nibbler at $3900 with 39 bids.

    Lot 237 Q*Bert at $3900 with 19 bids.

Lot 238 another one at $3600 with 16 bids.

Lot 209 Star Trek sitdown at $4500 with 17 bids.

Lot 234 Reactor at $4700 with 11 bids.

Lot 236 Mad Planets at $5000 with 10 bids.

Lot 240 Three Stooges at $6100 with 18 bids.

Lot 235 Krull at $6500 with 13 bids. Crazy.

*** LOT 313 War Of The Worlds at $10000 with 20 bids. Mind boggling. ***

*** Lot 314 Paperboy with signature plates at $11500 with 23 bids. Wow that's a massive amount, just add plates ***

*** Discs Of Tron Environmental at $11500 with 20 bids. Nice super sized cab. ***

Note Lot 712 Darius sold for $7600, ouch. So that's one you probably couldn't afford Hector.

Nemesis sold for $1,700, which is much better than the crazy dollars for everything else.

Lock N Chase sold for $1000, so that would have been a good pickup.

    But they're gone now.

Lots 800+ are up for auction soon ... https://bid.captainsauctionwarehouse.com/m/view-auctions/catalog/id/80?page=16
