Did something screwy happen since last night with respect to the submitted scores section of the site ? This is what I see below.

It appears TG has switched things up again.. Navigation has changed, the old "Newsfeed" is now "Social" and the old "Score Submissions" is now called "Score Review" under TG Records. Once you get there, you have to click the "Score Submission Review" link to get a list of active scores to adjudicate... Also Tournament has been added, but "Coming Soon" :(

I kind of miss the list view we've all become accustomed to as it was easier to navigate and a much faster load time...

I'm seeing exactly what you are seeing on that page at the bottom. Hopefully that's the old list view and they can fix this so we can all see/use it. I'm using the latest version of Chrome and this is what I see:

I logged out, cleared cache, logged back in and still see it...

Seems the scoreboard has had a make over too - now you have to scroll twice as far to see anything because ITS BIG WRITING NOW. :( Honestly, if you're going to have one design that "fits all" in the modern suite of possible browsers, you have to have collapsible lists with an option to begin collapsed. Also, (optionally) have more to a page.

I cleared my cookies and that seemed to change the "Score Submissions" page.. The "Recent Forum Posts" side bar no longer displays at the bottom of the page.. it's now overlaying the Score Review section and can't be moved even on window re-size...

    Oh my...

    Among(many)other things...

Alerts on the scoreboard sidebar whenever someone likes or thanks something?

    :P

First impressions of the makeover so far aren't to my liking, but it doesn't mean it's "wrong" or "bad", I'm sure I won't even notice in a couple of weeks, but it seems like the things changed didn't really need attention.

Regardless of my opinion, is still nice to see progress.

@admin staff I see two issues when using the Score Submission Review filtering:

When you initially hit that page (https://www.twingalaxies.com/forumdisplay.php/446-Score-Submission-Review) scores display including paging at the bottom of the view. Now filter by user ie: "trivia212005" .. paging disappears. I selected trivia because I know from using the old site that he has close to 80 or 90 pages of scores. If you then select "All" from the filter, paging doesn't reappear. Without paging, it's going to be really tough to navigate back to review/adjudicate older scores.

Any chance you can also display the paging up top above the content as well as the bottom of the page? Scrolling down is quite tedious :P

Last thing, I'm seeing this on all filtered results for most scores, when I have never voted on them:

I verified a handful of scores that display this on search, but I had never voted on all of them...

Agree with @Rogerpoco .. progress is good! Looking forward to see how the Tournament section turns out and hoping they implement a proper ticketing system in the near future. Posting to that long scoreboard errors thread seems a bit ghetto :P

I can't view my Private Messages. The text area is completely white for me and then at the bottom is the person's signature. No actual message.

Am I missing something? How do I get to page 2 of the scores?

@admin staff Paging looks good on the Score Sub. Review page now.

    Two other Minor things..

On the leaderboards page.. The styling of the "Search" input has changed.. width looks like it's set to default..

Other one is the member leaderboards look a bit wonky.. They used to be 2 columns.. now they are one and a jumbled mess :)

oh, and this has been a bug for ages, but when your on any of the members pages, click the "Notifications" icon in the upper nav.. no worky.

@admin staff where is the link to the disputes?

I took a look at where the forum archives are NOW, and what it looks like now when you attempt to scroll through the threads. Two words...cumbersome/annoying.

I took a look at "TG Records/Score Review" and how it NOW takes extra steps to find the rest of the submitted scores. Three words...cumbersome/annoying/labrynthian. What should have been done is adding a way to screen out (self-apparent, and not a matter of figuring out how) videos that you already adjudicated, and a way to sort by submission video length so as to focus on the quickest ones to adjudicate thus contributing to slimming down the ridiculously high submission queue.

There's a decades-old army adage..."if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Why someone thought these changes would be in our best interest is the big question here...and how such cryptic changes were released without a test period to gauge community reaction is mystifying. Some sites, like EBay, have an off/on switch where a user can turn off a new modification and revert to the old format if they prefer it...TG should have considered implementing that as well.

Or...better yet...these changes should NOT have been implemented. They stink.

    EXACTLY !

But, shouldn't that saying be "if it ain't broke, don't change it" or "if it ain't broke, leave it be" ?

Origin of phrase (FYI) - https://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/if-it-aint-broke-dont-fix-it.html

Although the chronicle indicates origins in print/media from the late 1970's, the phrase was ballied about by WWII and post WWII soldiers long before that (kind of like how "S.O.S." is known to most as "Save Our Ship" but in the WWI was used by soldiers to describe their meals as "S**t on Shingles", shingles meaning the often dry bread they were given in the mess halls)

Instructing somebody to not fix something that isn't broke conveys a bit of sarcasm and disdain for the person attempting a repair that is not needed.

Definitely. City "officials" do things like this all the time in NYC and things go from bad to worse in short order.

A better way to put it would be this...nothing is wrong with changes so long as the right changes are made AND the changes are made right :)

Change for the sake of change is wasteful.
