Sega Genesis Radica - how would you classify it?

What platform would you put this on?

-Its own unique platform

-TV Plug and Play

-Normal Genesis platform, but under the Emu tracks

i'd suggest plug and play. i guess emu could work, provided its truly emu and not reprogrammed. can you confirm its emulation versus port? i know the intellivions plug and plays arent emu but are rather reverse engineered/reprogammed and so have outright design chances eitheri ntention, or just feautres of the game the reprogrammers were ignorant on and get wrong..

Definitely not its own platform. In my opinion there are too many already as it is. I've been thinking about posting something on my wall about removing the ones that have no games on them, they just clutter the list.

I would say Normal genesis console , not necesarily EMU, but still a special tracks indicating it's the plug and play version.

Plug and play sounds right to me

not trying to be a jerk but did you see my comment about how some of this stuff is? its just programmers that no games exist and they try to program the game from scratch making for a very different game. this is defintely true for intellivsion not sure if its true here

Looks like most folks are saying Plug & Play, which is where my mind was at too.

Next question: Under P&P, should the device itself listed be as a game, with all the titles on it as tracks for that one game

or, each title on the device be listed as a separate game/track ?

I think that question shows a weakness of tg granularity. Probably no good answer. However this is somewhat close to your plug and play being like a compilation disc so I’d say do with this what you would with a compilation

I will add no matter which way you go the plug and play should probably be listed somewhere rules or title since it’s possivlr there may one day be two genesis plug and plays that program the games differently enough to be tracked separately

There is already a host of different MegaDrive/Genesis plug & play systems out there. If the person creating the track wishes, they can specific whatever limitation they wish on the track in the title/rules of the track. TG has this flexibility. :)

yes, the rule set ultimately allows for infinite flexibility i was refering to a limitiation in the hierarch though. you have to go platform>game>track the track then of course can be smart enough to fill in any gaps. but whats really needed here is a way for platform>compilation>game>track. workaround definitley exist so its possible but i dont feel optimal

Ah, understood. Yes, compilations are a poor fit for the current hierarchy. Mind you I'd categorise this as a double-platform opener, rather than Platform > Game.

Platform (TV Plug & Play) > Platform (Specific TV Plug and Play) > (etc)

... but yeah, just another hierarchy semantics. :)

hah! yes, absoultey its more of a sub platofrm than a compilation. but it ultimately serves the same purpose and also results in 4 levels of hierarchy so the same formula that solves compilatin would solve this. but you are correct, despite similarities being close enough to have the same solution, if we care about details (and we do!) then they're not identical
