3rd festival is cancelled

  1. 3rd festival is cancelled

The mall has had major scheduling problems and we have agreed to postpone the event until next summer. They asked us to move the date of the event for the second time but we were unable to accomodate this request.

I hope this change is not a disappointment to any players. The positive result of this change is that it allows us more time to finish the book.

Instead of organizing the Mall event, we will be finishing the forthcoming Book of world Records.

    Walter:

Thanks for making every effort possible in trying to get the 3rd MoA event to occur. We all know that you put a lot of effort into it, and that's to say the very least.

I am sure that the redirected efforts towards the Book will be seen and appreciated by all when we do reach that momentous day and it's out in print !!

GROWL! I was looking forward to going to this, got a room thru hotels.com and bought train tickets a week ago...now to cancel, will have to pay for a night's stay as a penalty. Summer vacation has been lost!

Perhaps ANOTHER venue should be chosen...like Woodfield Mall in Chicago?

It was a surprise to me. The Mall gave our slots away to a paying customer. I didnt know that they would do this to us because we werent paying for the use of the space. Apparently, their national office was still offering our space/slot out to customers at the same time they were scheduling our event.

i am very sorry for all problems this has caused.

Walter you did your best. Sometimes there is simply no way to predict the way things are going to turn out.

Well if they did that, I'd take them to court for fraud.

Wow, that's terrible. Like they need yet another boring book signing or live infomercial there. They really missed the boat here.

I think I'll drop by that weekend and see exactly what they have going on... then I can ridicule them. :)

Assuming all you lost is one hotel night out of everything, use that money to go to California Extreme at the end of July instead (www.caextreme.org). It's a premier show like you couldn't believe.

BTW, as someone who has lived near Woodfield Mall in the last year, their snooty clientelle would probably scoff at the idea. :) A place like Gamework or Dave * Busters would be perfect if they had any open space to speak of.

Well, since I already have a hotel for that week in Minneapolis, I'll let you all know as well what's going on.

I'll probably sit in the middle of one of the walkways and play some video games in protest :)
