    Hello fellow gamers:

This question is for any and all gamers who have played the same game for more than 24 straight hours.

How many marathons (TG-verified or not), do you claim under your belt...strictly out of curiosity.

For the purpose of my inquiry, I'd also like to include RPG' if you know you did a 24+ hour stretch on, say, "Everquest" or "Diablo", that will count towards what I'm curious at seeing.

No prizes for this, however...this is strictly for fun.

Be honest is all that I ask. I have four (4) that I can claim, though two are admittdly RPG efforts.

    Star Wars (Arcade 1983)
    Time Bandit (Atari ST)
    Diablo II (RPG for PC)
Final Fantasy VII (RPG for Sony PS1)

I might have another in there, somewhere, but guessing whether it was 20 or 24 is too tough. These above I am positive of.

Nothing to prove by this...I guess I just want to know how many players have put themselves through these personal endurance challenges, that's all, or simply found themselves so engrossed in a great RPG that they couldn't drag themself away from it until the sun went up and down.

I'm not much of a marathon gamer. So far, I have 2 failed attempts at a GTA: VC 100% completion time. First one failing after 3 hours because I kept messing up with the ambulence mission and the second failing after 8 hours, I missed a hidden package and I had no record of which one  . Come this Christmas break I will attempt again. (For those who are curious it takes approximaitly 13-14 hours of non-stop play to beat the game with 100% rating).

24 hours, never. Nut sure about Heretic though, finished the game in one session overnight, but don't think it was 24 hours.

I think playing T&F about 10hour IS marathoning. Playing Gauntlet whole day IS marathoning. But there were not any different marathon settings, just loong games.

You guys are/were nuts!  :P

My only 24 hour marathon would be 18m+ on Track'n'Field around 1985/6.

    Talk about boring......

My best marathon is a little over 33 hours on 2600 Asteroids 1b.

I have had sessions that lasted past 20 hours on:

    Final Fantasy 7
    Tomb Raider
    Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain
    Phantasy Star (1-4)

I did take short breaks to answer nature calls with these sessions.

I will try for a 50 hr marathon some time in the future, but this is about as far as I think I can go.

    Hello fellow gamers:

Well, since Ron mentioned AD&D, I'll mention that I most likely had a few 24+ sessions in my heyday.

My next "marathon" (24+) will be when I record for Ron a complete game of "Time Bandit" for the Atari ST, from beginning to end.

When (if) my "Star Wars" machine is ever fixed or replaced (the economy providing), then I will seriously do a marathon while recording onto videocamera. Now that Mark Boolman is back in action, I can't my marathon record for granted that no one will go after it. Mark not only can, but might be able to do it in 42 or so hours.
