Besides, I saw at least one 2600 PAL title in there that doesn't show up in that search - Night Stalker is the PAL version of Dark Cavern

    Hi Scott,

I remember those points & the notes I placed onto the scoreboard indicating NTSC/PAL based on your points.

    Currently I'm gathering evidence:

    Dark Cavern - 262
    Night Stalker - 316
    http://www.intellivisionlives.com/blues ... tion2.html
    - Notes that Night Stalker was originally developed for Intellivision & the 2600 version was named Dark Cavern.
    - Another version was named Night Stalker for International release (suggesting PAL only).

    Moby Games: http://www.mobygames.com/game/atari-260 ... rId,29427/
    - Only Dark Cavern, no mention of Night Stalker.

    Skeptic Files: http://www.skepticfiles.org/cowtext/arcade/at2600ls.htm
    - Suggests exists in both NTSC & PAL forms.

    Game FAQs: http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/a2600/data/584926.html
    - US suggested.

    Game Stats: http://www.gamestats.com/objects/004/004987/index.html
    - Suggests Dark Cavern was re-released as Night Stalker.

All the sites you listed, with the exception of Intellivisionlives, are notorious for sketchy info (and not just regarding the 2600).

For info on 2600 titles, you're best sticking with Atarimania, Digital Press, and Atariage (in that order), and cross-referencing between all 3.

    Atarimania
    http://www.atarimania.com/detail_soft.p ... ON_ID=7808

    Digital Press
    http://www.digitpress.com/DP/cmf/game.cmf?gameid=9405
    http://www.digitpress.com/eastereggs/26darkcavern.htm

But as I said, checking the scanlines is the best way for determining whether or not a title is NTSC or PAL. The Z26 emulator has an option that displays the # (ALT-9 w/o the X26 frontend, or check the settings option in the X26 frontend.

This is how I was able to determine that Rodrigo was either using PAL roms or hacks of PAL roms for some of his scores (he claimed all his roms were NTSC but some were never released in that format).

The only evidence found for true existence of Night Stalker is the PAL version. I've found a series of indirect references to Telegames having the rights to re-release Dark Cavern & I can speculate from that the dump would be the Dark Cavern ROM - therefore a seperate existence of a Night Stalker NTSC ROM can be ruled out (neither show the name in-game that have seen so a straight re-release with different packaging seems possible).

Taking evidence only, leaves an anomaly: Brien King & Stephen Knox have this game as NTSC-achieved, but then the evidence is PAL only. Neither have a score for this game under Dark Cavern, so logically the scores could be moved to there.
