    Holy leechfest, Batman!

340,456. I need to analyze the RNG more. It might be possible to infinitely leech with efficient enough enemy spawning.

579,295. Has anyone EVER 1cc'd this thing? I can't even make it past the art gallery with all the extra lives from leeching.

Edit: 733,768. Finally made it past the art gallery on my last life, dying in the car section afterwards, haha.

Edit 2: 868,007. Almost to the end of Gotham City 2.

Well a lot of chatter, but only 1 submission so far on this one, and that means an easy 1st place. :)

    1st Place - Koos van Dyk - 44,754

So.. anyone actually going to take the plunge? Gotham can't just save itself you know! ;)

There needs to be a ruling on the leeching. Crossposted from MARP:

Here are what I believe to be the main arguments for and against the leeching:

Leeching Allowed: The enemies used for leeching have a 100% trigger rate on the first two lives, and then it quickly diminishes. This is such that by the fifth or so life, not enough spawn to even be worth staying there. It may be considered a legitimate point pressing method, considering this.

Leeching Disallowed: In a full run of the game, without leeching, I would estimate 320-380k points would likely be achieved. Using the leeching method, about 650k points are possible at the primary leeching spot alone, in addition to the score throughout the game. This adds unnecessary length to playing and allows great amounts of points to be earned by means of a low-risk/low-skill tactic.

Limiting the number of lives will not affect this, as you can get more points there on three lives than you can get throughout the entire game without leeching.
As a distinction, my best leeching score was bumped up to 888,545; my best score without is just 136,076.

I scored 282,389 without any sort of leeching. I made it past the second Joker fight in the last level of the game (Cathedral), nearly reaching the end.

Edit: Done. 360,041 - finished the game with three lives remaining for a nice 45k bonus. 3 life start, no leeching.

A very nice score has materialized as Justin Kvithyll takes first place so far this month with a 1cc score! [Very nicely done considering the difficulty in later levels]

    1st Place - Justin Kvithyll - 360,041
    2nd Place - Koos van Dyk - 44,754

Any other takers to join in on the defense of Gotham City?

That's the tale of the tape folks. Not many decided to get in on the smash'in good time, but not every title can be a golden title. October's title coming right up!
