I've been beaten by a few lady friends I have online in a few games.

However, the most humiliating was getting smacked down by my own mother in Dr. Mario (NES) when I was a kid, in front of my friends as a creative form of punishment. It was the one game she played constantly when we had the NES up & running (getting to Lv 25 High at one point), making it difficult to beat her.

I can't really remember being beaten by a woman in a video game, but then again I am sure it has happened so I voted yes.

There are two games that I am positive that no woman will ever be able to beat me in. They are Galaxian for the Atari 2600, and Donkey Kong 3 Arcade or MAME. But then again I am not too sure that a man can even beat me in those games.

My wife, Stephanie, completely humiliates me on any Tetris-style game. She's been OCD about Tetris ever since she got her first Gameboy back in the early 90s and, as a result, I can't come close to her scores.

Although I agree in a general way that most women are less competitive than men when it comes to playing games, that's not always the case. Steph is extremely competitive when it comes to the games (and not just video games) she enjoys: Tetris, Centipede, TMNT, Chess, Scrabble, etc. The mutual enjoyment of playing to win is one of the things that brought us together in the first place, and is one of the reasons we're still together after nearly 20 years. :)

My sister and I used to play Combat on the Atari 2600. She used to kick my butt on the tank part of the game. My mom had the house record on Laser Blast (Atari 2600) back in the 80's.

my wife can out rap me in singstar karaoke. but singing, we're pretty even. sometimes I beat her - sometimes she beats me. First time I ever played Marvel vs Capcom 2 the new age of heroes, my sister in law beat me by wildly button mashing. Since I'd never played it before, I'm not sure that should count.

[quote="trivia212005"]Here's a question, have you ever been beaten in a video game by a woman? (This question is for men only)

    Here's the answer:
Yes, by my own sister. Explanation, my sister kicks ass in Fighting Games and by my mother in Monopoly for the Genesis.[/quote

    Men only? Oh, really.

    Sorry, fella...I'm coming in.

What would possess you to even ask such a question unless, of course, you think:

    1) women gamers are unequal to men in linear spatial skills.
    2) a male gamer's skill is lacking if he is beaten by a woman.
    3) being beaten by a woman in a game is a celebrated event due to your supposed thought that it's a rarity.

Either answer is extremely sexist as is your offensive and derogatory post about women. You men who responded are just as guilty because your comments paid homage to the myth that women aren't competent players on the average. Doesn't matter that some mentioned women who play well, the fact remains you all contemplated the subject as an anomaly, a freak of nature, a curious event.

What even offends me more is Twin Galaxies' Moderators have no problem pulling threads where an argument breaks out, someone calls someone an "assh*ole" or threatens someone with violence. But you apparently have no problem allowing sexist posts to thrive on your forums.

I am really sick of seeing sexist attitudes in Gaming.

Hope your Neanderthal Caves are cold tonight.
