Walter Day's Monument for Ottumwa

  1. Walter Day's Monument for Ottumwa

I am building an "In-Doors Monument" as a personal gift for the City of Ottumwa. Designed to commemorate Ottumwa's historic status as the Video Game Capital of the World, the Monument focuses on the theme: "All Roads Lead to Ottumwa," and contains framed newspaper clippings as well as a list of 5,000 cities from around the world, showing their respective distances to Ottumwa.

Go to this link below to check this list to see if your city is already included. This is a growing list which, currently, is barely half-complete. Everybody is welcome to help create this Monument by submitting information found on Mapquest that can be added to the list of cities. By working together, we can have the Monument finished in time for its unveiling on November 11, 2011, as we celebrate Twin Galaxies' 30th Birthday.

Cool that you are building this. I guess since Twin Galaxies deals with World Records it is fitting the anniversary is on 11,11,11. 8)

    Ellis,

Good to hear from you. That was quite a drive from PA. I have now added Stroudsburg, PA.

    Thanks for the help.

Walter, do you need any local newspaper clippings? I even have the papers that I was in, but you might already have those.

    Hey Walter!

In November, we'll be driving 977.61 miles from Jim Thorpe, PA to visit you!
I thought I would also include, my brother will be driving 975.5 miles from Lansford, PA. Not much of a difference, but since it's always been my dream to put Lansford on the map, I want to be sure it makes your list!

Looking forward to the "honeymoon" roadtrip! ;)
