    Hello fellow gamers:

Borrowing an excerpt from the above thread on Undisputed Champions (see page 7 post #63), below is an excerpt of just those scores which have remained undefeated/undisputed for 25 or more years as of when this data was compiled on Dec13/14 and later updated on Jan03/15 after the new year had arrived.

In order of duration, followed by alpha-order, can any of these titles fall ?

My thoughts on some titles: (listed in Alpha order)

Arm Wrestling - George Riley has been playing this recently and edging towards the top score (although he is playing on MAME, I'm unsure if he has access to a cab). Given Riley's ability on other games, this one could possibly fall if he continues.

Bosconian - I certainly believe there are at least a few people around who could topple this one. There is 1 higher score at MARP. (4,871,340 by sikraiken). Mostly played at 5-life settings (eg Funspot), so marathons of this probably have not been attempted in any great quantity.

Galaga - No-one actively playing (well, that I am aware of) the marathon settings. But given that the title is one of the more popular ones (OK - maybe a little bias here ), it's hard to see the record sitting where it is for the next few years.

Gyruss - I believe this has been beaten, albeit unofficially. This is from "Kim Kanonarm's" facebook page:
The longstanding Gyruss world record has been beaten, as a Danish arcade champ warped past Neptune and Saturn for over 49 hours.

Kim "Kanonarm" Köbke is the name of the new champion, who blasted to 62,200,250 points after 49 hours, 16 minutes of continuous gameplay. His game came to a close just after 8 a.m. Eastern time.
Juno First - Would take around 35 hours to beat this score but it is highly possible given the nature of the game and bonus ship system. AFAIK there isn't anyone actively playing this, hence why (I believe) the score is still standing.

Outrun - This one surprised me as the Aurcade record is already higher (and various MAME sites e.g. MARP, have higher scores)

Quantum - This will probably never be beaten, as it almost certainly used the technique of circling an atom continuously. IMHO this technique should not be allowed. The 2nd and 3rd place scores almost certainly did the same.

That will do for now. If something else springs to mind I'll make another post

Robert, thanks for compiling the lists. They are definitely a great read, and a good place to come if anyone wants to learn a new game!

    "Down with 80's scores!"

NOTE - this particular post within this thread I will no longer be updating...I'll update the first post as well as numbers 4 and 11 as new information becomes available

Thanks for the additional information, Andrew !! As I stated in my original "Undisputed Champions" thread, I did not cross-check the MARP database to see which are higher. Now that you mentioned it (RE "Outrun") I did not cross-check the Aurcade database either.

Not sure if George Riley lives in NY, but the Barcade Manhattan location actually does have an "Arm Wrestling" as of a few months ago !! Maybe he could travel and arrange to have it recorded, but that place is busy as all heck at any given time. You know, I actually met and saw Mark Haber play many years ago in an NYC arcade. I watched him do his thing on "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom"...he is the only player I have seen do the mine cart scenes at full speed !! He memorized the stages, including whip points, tilt points and jumps, and I'd say mostly survived a good percentage of the time. Never got to know him, but did see him play. I also watched him play "Peter Packrat" fairly well though cannot remember his scoring.

Here are the ones that have a chance at falling based on what little I know, in addition to those that you have mentioned, and the gamer(s) that I feel are best capable of doing so, one of which has been inactive for nearly 10 years but I will include nonetheless...

    Bubbles (31) - Greg Bond
Crazy Climber (3 lives) (31) - Jason Cram
Head On (31) - Fred Pastore
Jump Bug (31) - John McAlister
Monster Bash (31) - Robert Griffin
Motorace USA (31) - Martin Bedard
Mouse Trap (31) - Kelly Tharp
Mystic Marathon (30) - Stephen Wagner
Omega Race (3 lives) (30) - Rick Carter (see * below)
Pole Position (30) - Richie Vavrence
    Rally-X (29) - Brian Kuh
    Rescue (29) - Dwayne Richard
Road Runner (29) - Brian Kuh
Robby Roto (28) - Jason Cram
Space Dungeon (28) - Dwayne Richard
Space Panic (28) - Greg Bond
Star Wars (TGTS) (27) - Brandon Erickson (Inactive)
    Zaxxon (32) - Donald Hayes

(*) About "Omega Race", years back in my high school days, and I posted this recollection on the TG forums many a time in the past, I saw an under-classmen put up a score of more than 4.5 million point and he said he was on either his 1st or 2nd life, I forget which. I watched him play and he never took a hit the whole time that I watched (I did not see the entirety due to class sessions), so I know for a fact that this record can be beaten...just a matter of whether an active player can do so

OK, I finally had the time to review the MARP database, so combining that research with what I did before, and what Andrew Barra, Chris Mansfield, Dwayne Richard and Stephen Wagner contributed, here is a definitive list as of 12/16/14 (and later updated on 1/03/15) of which unbeaten arcade records from 1990 or prior (25 or more years) has a chance of being beaten in the here and now...and I am having difficulty finding the year of the current Aurcade records.

I live in California Robert. According to Aurcade there is an Arm Wrestling Arcade machine in Phoenix. Interesting Indiana Jones story you have there about Mark Haber.
It would make sense given Arm Wrestling is all about split second instant reaction near perfect timing throughout the entire game of which there is only 20 one minute rounds.

BTW, good job compiling the info. I also have an infinity on occasion to compile info, and numbers.
Space Jockey (Atari 2600) 1,321,495 3rd highest score in the world.

You could also add "Vanguard". Scotty Williams, 6 July 1982

I added "Zaxxon", Donald, thanks !!

As for "Vanguard", I believe that I included Scotty's score in the original "Undisputed Champions" thread (Page 7 Post #63) but did not see any active contenders on it so left it off the list of those who might be able to beat it. But it is now part of this thread's initial post. Thanks, Andrew !!

RTM REPLY - well here's hoping you can make the trip. People that are good at split-second timing for a sustained period of time, an element of a few key arcade titles though not all, are far and few in between. This would make for an awesome title to take down 25+ years after it was set. Good luck !!

Steve Wagner is probably a contender for this one, based on information he gave me regarding the title. I am unsure whether he is planning to beat this one, however.
