    NTSC/PAL - Game 1
An ORIGINAL Vectrex controller MUST be used for all submissions.
You must be attempting to destroy the Energy Cannon at all times. This is especially an issue on the early boards, where one could keep destroying all of the outer castle walls and have them regenerate with not much threat of being killed.

The actual world record performance begins at the 1 hour and 2 minute mark.

Performance was streamed live on back in 2012. This is the first known video recorded performance of 1 million points on Star Castle. Original stock Vectrex controller was used.

I remember watching you play this one, was a really good game, score is legit for me.

    Thanks John!

Do you get a limit on the number of lives you get? Can you just play "forever" even if you die 100 times?

I'm not sure if there is a limit. When you get more than 10 lives it'll display "XXXXXXXXXX." I seem to remember at the end of the game when I kill myself off that it still displays the 10 Xs even after losing several lives.

I haven't watched the full video yet, but I couldn't find a power on sequence. Was/is this required for Vectrex? I also couldn't ever see the actual controller.

    A power-on wouldn't achieve anything.

I don't show the Vectrex controller in the video. One would be at a disadvantage not to use a Vectrex controller. I use the 4 buttons on the controller to control my ship. I can't think of any other controller I would rather use that could give me that precision.

I watched the full game a while ago. He's not using an emulator and the rate of fire is consistent with the actual Vectrex controller. Though some rules weren't followed, this is legit. Future Vectrex submitters should show the system and the controller, since in different instances (the game or the video itself) it may be harder to tell.

My issue is the original rules. Do the rules say you only get 5 lives or something similar? Can you die as many times as you like and still set this score?
