ROM changes which affect MAME submissions

    Thanks for all the hard work - is it possible to edit the first two posts? Meaning, is it sufficient to only check those - or as future changes occur would we have to scan the rest of the thread as well?

    The first two posts can be edited, so as new information arises it can be updated. :)

    Added earthjkr to the list. The ROM set name has not changed but the DIPs vs. rules make it a special case.

    Added actonhw special case scenario: the EEPROM does not save and therefore not possible to change difficulty settings.

    I reported a bug on Contra some years ago that got fixed in MAME v.141, I think it was. Prior to this if you shot really fast, especially on the boss before the snow stage, the counter would freeze. The counter would catch up if you stopped shooting but if the counter was frozen when the boss was defeated, the game would not continue to the next stage when the guy ran off the screen.

    Added baryon (new to the scoreboard) but note that this is the opposite to the norm - the older MAMEs are the ones which use a different set than the intended rules. ;)

    0.155-0.158: baryona - "Baryon - Future Assault (set 2)"
    0.159-0.174: baryon - "Baryon - Future Assault (set 1)"
