    Rules
This variation is for both NTSC and PAL as there is no difference between the two on the Intellivision Video Game Console.

You can only play 1 person out of the 6. All others must remain at their starting amount of 750 or your score will be DQ'ed. Your amount won will be the total after ALL 10 races are complete.
    Submission Message
Here is my Submission for Intellivision Horse Racing.

The max cash-out is $9,999.00. I surpassed that on the 8th race.

I had $7,513 before the 8th race and I bet the Exacta (first and second pace - In Order) RED-YELLOW which paid off 15 TIMES my money ($3,750) Which brought my total to $11,263.

The Exacta always pays 15 times your money in this game.

There is a cap in this game of $9,999 with no Rollovers. I hit the MAX after 8 races.

I put up pics of my cash before the 8th race, my selection (RED-YELLOW), and a third pic at the photo-finish of RED-YELLOW cashing in for me.

This weekend, I made $28,000 in Poker, Roulette and Horse Racing. Too bad it's fake money !!!

Enjoy the day at the Races on this video!

Of course my pics loaded in the wrong order!

I bet exacta on Red-Yellow in the first pic

Second pic is the photo finish of Red-Yellow

Third pic is my final cash: $9,999.

In the booklet for the game, it says you can coax one of the horses along in each race .. however, if you mis-time it and coax too much, your horse will fade before the stretch. I was coaxing and whipping all day yesterday ... but couldn't hit $9,999; and my horse that I was driving only won 50% of the time anyway .... so tonight, I let the computer race all the horses in every race, and it paid off. A little tip for anyone who will try this game in the future.

    Just for reference:

I hit the Exacta in Race 6, Race 7 and Race 8 .. ($3500 profit on each)

$10,500 profit from those 3 races was enough to break the bank!

Looks like you have these gambling games firmly under your heel.

I wouldn't go thinking I could do the same thing in Las Vegas, though, if I were you.

I strongly suspect that Intellivision dynamics are not a true reflection of how things work, in reality.

I have to agree with you. To loosely summarize the difference:

In the casino or race-track, you'll hit a nice streak 1 out of every 10 to 15 tries. In these games, maybe 1/5 tries you'll have a hot-streak. I'm guessing that if you can never feel the hot-streak in the video game versions, you would never play.

The horses, in real life and in this video game, it's a lot of luck... but you can see, I finally hit 3 Exactas in a row, lucky streaks happen .. in the game and real life ... where you're just "on" with your predictions. I had no hesitation with my picks - I was feeling the streak. However, I played Horse-racing all day Saturday, and hit one Exacta per 10 races on the average... couldn't pick anything. It's realistic in that sense.

But I agree that in these games, the hot-streak happens more often than in real life.

Having experience in casinos and the track (theoretical strategies) really does help you, though in these games.
