    Dispute Evidence / Rationale
A score ending in 80 is not possible in Robotron. Scoring can only be done in multiples of 25. Whether a typo, deliberate falsification, or something else, this score is not achievable and is thus invalid.

This one is the worst of the worst. I have my fears that we will see a lot of disputes revolving around the "I can't do it, so it's not legitimate" ilk but this particular dispute literally cannot be achieved because no score can end in these digits. It has nothing to do with skill (although marathoning this game to the tune of 350m is a separate issue), nothing to do with any glitch abuse, nothing to do with any grey area process.

No score can end in these 2 digits. Easy remove.

I don't think there is much to ask. The score ends in 80, which 1 credit drop by someone who has never played the game before can prove out to be impossible, is entered into the db. As Jeremy states, whether it was intentional, unintentional, a typo, etc, is irrelevant, it's an unused digit value and therefore an invalid score.

Are you certain this is the right Brian King? Assuming you're correct I sent him a message, I'll see if he replies, though its kinda weird getting a message from a stranger so I wouldnt be surprised if he doesnt. I do think people deserve to at least be given a chance to talk. Yes I feel really weird and presumptuous reaching out to a stranger like this, but I feel even more weird talking about someone behind their back without giving them a fair chance. For all we know he might come in and say it never happened, and join in requesting it be removed -- then there'd be a rock solid case.

Before the last ownership change, there was an article on the TG website from the local Durham, NC newspaper about an old arcade there that had some information about him that convinced me it's the same guy. I can't find it anymore and don't see that I saved it anywhere.

I would ask him whether he has any information from back then on the event like newspaper articles, etc... especially anything that mentioned what the precise score was. I would also ask if he and any problems with the machine rebooting.

Does anybody know what magazine that is from? If I ever knew I don't remember, and don't remember where I got it.

Can someone please explain to me why this blatantly obvious valid dispute has not been resolved more than a year after the dispute was initiated?

I'm not one to speculate, unfortunately, so I cannot provide a solid answer. But I can say that I have to agree that this definitely needs to go!
