Was actually looking for a straightforward MAME racer when I stumbled on this.
Cute game. I think you get more points for smashing the other cars as much as possible.
    Thanks Everyone!!!

I'm not going to vote no over this because you only used a single credit but it looks like you put in two credits to start. The general rule is to only start with one.

Nice job. I enjoy this type of game so will see what I can do to give you some competition.

Hmm-I noticed that(and should have checked), I thought I had interrupted the attract sounds from the start-up(I just checked, you're right, most definitely).
Only a credit used, the rules don't quite say a second credit can't be inserted(that's a stretch, fair), I'd hate to lose this(beating the third track was tough!), but definitely something I am glad you mentioned, I'll go with whatever the majority thinks on this one.

I just looked in the MAME rules and it makes no mention of this so never mind. Sorry.

I'm almost positive it used to be a rule though because it was one that I that was dumb and it was not a rule at MARP.

You should try Dragster in MAME. It's just a bit harder than the Atari 2600 version :)

    TODO:

    - Missing linescroll in special modes (qgh title, mahmajn2/qrouka attract mode)

    - Screen flipping (mix register 13 & 2)

    - FRC timer IRQ is currently in a slight off-beat (timer should be resetted every time that the mode changes, but current MAME framework doesn't seem to like it).

    NOTES:

    - Hardware: System24: The odd one out. Medium resolution. Entirely ram-based, no graphics roms. 4-layer tilemap hardware in two pairs, selection on a 8-pixels basis. Tile-based sprites(!) organised as a linked list. The tilemap chip has been reused for model1 and model2, probably because they had it handy and it handles medium res.

    WIP:

    - 0.185: Read inputs through 315-5296 [AJR].

    - 0.178: Moved FDC legacy logging behind a compile switch in segas24 [Angelo Salese].

    - 0.167: Fixed horizontal partial updates in Sega System 24 driver [David Haywood].

    - 0.156: Small cleanup [hap].

    - 16th June 2013: Charles MacDonald - I've updated the Sega System 24 hardware notes with some new findings and corrections to the previous version (http://cgfm2.emuviews.com/new/s24hw.txt).

    - 6th April 2013: Charles MacDonald - I've been working on a System 24 project and decided to update the old hardware documentation. Almost everything has been tested that I can think of, including some unused features that games don't utilize. There's still a bit more work to do regarding wait states and rendering timings. Documents: System 24 hardware notes, V-Sync timing diagram (PNG), Scanline timing diagram (PNG) and Horizontal and vertical timings (ODS). The V-Sync diagram shows how the composite sync output has the horizontal sync pulses inverted during the V-Sync pulse. The scanline timing diagram shows the timing relationships between different events in units of pixels. If possible, I'll try to get more updates done this year.

    - 0.147u1: Made timer_device use delegates [Miodrag Milanovic].

    - 0.146u5: Removed machine\s24fd.c. Removed the horrible s16fd and s24fd files. Good riddance [Aaron Giles].

    - 0.144: Implemented FRC hook-up to Sega System 24 HW, fixes missing SFXs to Bonanza Bros [Angelo Salese, Phil Bennett, Charles MacDonald].

    - 0.143u8: Added includes\segaipt.h. Kanikani fixed DIPSW and DIP locations in Sega System 24 driver.

    - 0.142u1: Removed machine\segas24.c. Start untangling the Sega System 24 Vogon poetry Atari Ace left is his wake. Apply the new timing implementation per cgfm's analysis. Gain ground is going to be stuck in free play mode [O. Galibert].

    - 0.141u4: Atari Ace converted Segas24 to driver_device.

    - 0.134: hap fixed nvram_save writing 0 KB file (Segas24 rom games don't have NVRAM).

    - 0.129u6: Olivier Galibert added support for System 24 tilemap linescroll modes.

    - 0.129u1: Rewrote some abuses of the Sega System 24 HANDLER macros to use _func types instead [Atari Ace].

    - 0.127u7: System 24 cleanups [Aaron Giles, Olivier Galibert]: Correct memory map for both CPUs. Reduced RAM size to 256k. Corrected video timings. Renamed regions. Proper interrupt handling. This fixed freezes in dcclubfd, gground, ggroundj, roughrac, sgmastc and sgmastj. Changed VSync to 57.524160 Hz.

    - 0.127u2: Updated documentation and disk/ROM names in the Sega System 24 driver based on new information [Brian Troha, T.Fujita].

    - 0.122u4: Atari Ace and Aaron Giles fixed games crashing in debug build (system24_0120u3red).

    - 0.121u2: Changed system24.c to segas24.c driver. Cleaned up inputs in the System 24 driver [Sonikos]: Fixed dips in qrouka, sgmastc, sgmastcj, roughrac and qsww. Fixed input in dcclub, sgmastc, sgmastj and qrouka (the last is still missing input for the 3rd & 4th player). Added more description for each game: region, system (rom or floppy based) and version.

    - 0.111u4: David Haywood fixed crash in the Sega System 24 driver.

    - 0.105u5: Aaron Giles fixed a memory_set_bankptr called NULL base in the system24.c driver.

    - 0.105: Aaron Giles fixed the System24 save state support (when you attempt to save state, the game crashes).

    - 0.101: Fixed rom names.

    - 0.95u6: B.S. Ruggeri fixed inputs in several System 18/24 games and added some new standard strings.

    - 0.94u4: Changed VSync to 58Hz.

    - 0.94: Aaron Giles fixed System24 crash due to sound update.

    - 4th March 2005: Guru - USB adapter board for Sega System 24 FD-dumping arrived. Thanks to Charles MacDonald. And 2 special chips required for the USB adapter board arrived. Thanks to Jordan Rom.

    - 0.88u7: Added machine\s24fd.c.

    - 0.87u3: Olivier Galibert added some hooks to C 68k core in preparation for Sega decryption updates.

    - 0.87u1: SegaIC24 update [R. Belmont]. Added 32-bit access methods for char and tile RAM.

    - 22nd January 2004: Olivier Galibert did some minor fixes on the Sega System 24 driver and Scramble Spirits started working, although with graphics problems because the disk image is corrupt.

    - 0.78: Various System 24 improvements, fixing priorities, clipping issues etc [Olivier Galibert].

    - 15th December 2003: Olivier Galibert sent another update to the Sega System 24 driver fixing a bunch of things.

    - 13th December 2003: Olivier Galibert sent in an update to the Sega System 24 driver, improving HotRod to near perfection and adding all the encrypted games (which naturally don't work).

    - 0.71u3: Brad Oliver fixed compile problems in vidhrdw\segaic24.c.

    - 0.68: Added system24.c driver, machine\system24.c, vidhrdw\system24.c, includes\system24.h and vidhrdw\segaic24.c/h. There are still a lot of issues with this driver, but by including it now hopefully it can develop and also aid others looking at this system saving them time etc.

    - 24th April 2003: David Haywood submitted Olivier Galibert's System 24 driver separated from the rest of the Sega rewrite. It supports Quiz Ghost Hunter, Tokoro-san no MahMahjong, Tokoro-san no MahMahjong 2 and Quiz Mekurumeku Story. Bonanza Brothers has serious graphics problems and Hot Rod boots up but doesn't work at all, so they aren't yet playable.

    - 10th December 2001: Olivier Galibert reported some progress on the Sega System 24 driver. Hot Rod, Tokoro-san no MahMahjong and Tokoro-san no MahMahjong 2 are all playable with sound.

NOTE: thought I'd highlight what is already hiding in plain sight above (because I'm sure everyone will have noticed!)
DIPs originally labelled as "Unused" were renamed at 0.121u2.
While they have been renamed to settings that will affect gameplay, I haven't been able to translate all the changes. e.g. none of the Unused DIPs seem to affect "Start Money" or "Start Nitro". Best use default settings.
