Yeah, I know the quality of seeing the score was bad. I know my camera can get a better shot I just didn't have it lined up real well.

As far as leeching goes, there is an invisible timer on the non-tunnel levels. After around 4 minutes 4 spikes will come out from the corners. I talk about this in the video a little... what is interesting is you can dodge the spikes a few times but after the 5th or 6th dodge one of the spikes will automatically kill you. Really once the spikes are out you are dead no matter what because even if you dodge the 4 spikes once and complete the level the spikes will kill you before you move to the next level.

With this specific track rule set you only have a finite amount of lives and with the invisible timer it is a nice way to put a ceiling on the mindless waiting around. The game does get more difficult as your score increases. (canons move faster and shoot more)

Now for the Contra track with unlimited extra lives... I think leeching is definitely something to note but for this track I think it's a non-issue because of the invisible timer.

    Congrats Charlie!

I just saw this and your Black Tiger submission, will be taking a look at that one soon.

To answer everyone's questions on the point pressing, there is an invisible timer that resets every level. The main way to score is trying to maximize points before the timer kills you by sending spikes out from the corners that home in on you, so this is totally legit point pressing, not illegal leeching.

Thanks Pete. I'm pretty sure you could easily take this one back. Probably around the 2,200,000 mark is where it would start to get challenging to top. Right now, it still seems there's room for improvement.

    Nice! Welcome back?

I like how everyone has a different interpretation of what kills you when the timer runs out.
" 3 Machine Gun Shot Zero in On You and Eliminate you Automatically Unavoidable "
" the timer kills you by sending spikes out from the corners that home in on you "

I've only experimentet with it on the first stage and to me that looks like a football shaped bomb? Maybe it's different depending on what level you're on?
