Does this Pole Position always show a weird line across the screen right before you finish?

It should be a checkered flag, but forever reason in every version I played be it "xex" or "atr", the checkered flag is garbled. I remember the version I had as a kid had the same issue as well and I remember it happening the few times I've played this game in the Altirra emulator.

This is very very close to the Atari 5200 but it is not identical.
We now know that the checkered flag is different.
I think that the number of cars or some other small detail must also be different.
For example, we both had very similar scores 60,950 vs 61,000;.
You had a 18 sec bonus and passed 68 cars
I had a 15 sec bonus and passed 78 cars ?
Wish we could see the gameplay for that huge 62,300 score.
