So now I find that I actually strongly dislike having to record my gameplay by pointing a camera at the TV. Guess that's what happens once you get used to a setup that can get good direct capture footage. But I haven't modded my 7800 to do that yet, so camera at the TV is what I have to use for now.

Used my Supercharger to play and set a record on a Supercharger game! Also, a freshly cleaned set of paddle controllers used - they were REALLY jittery before the cleaning.

    Hardware at beginning and end.
Supercharger game load from audio player at about 1:00.
    Game select at 2:40.

    Attempt start at 31:30.
    Attempt end at 44:00.

Note the audio sometimes sits right at around the gate setting for the webcam, thus when the sound seems to cut in and out. Should probably have turned off the gating.

    Excellent submission!

One if these Star Chargers has come up on EBay for A PAL console, using an MP3 player, maybe I’ll pick it up.

Gotta say I’m impressed with your gameplay! You should take a crack at Kaboom you’ve got exceptional paddle skills.

This looks to a very tough game, so the record is well deserved!

Nice score. I could give you some advice about doing a direct capture. All you need to do so is a VCR and a capture device. The VCR needs a RCA output jack.

Run Atari to VCR via coaxial cable. Then run splitters out of the VCR output jacks. One set goes to TV one set goes to capture device.

This is probably the cheapest device out there. I do all my submissions with this. Works for all systems from the earliest ones up to Wii.

The only issue is most VCRs don't have stereo output jacks. So sound would be mono.

I've got a setup with a nice HDMI capture card, and my receiver has Zone 2 HDMI output that runs over to the card, with an HDMI splitter in the middle that just happens to remove HDCP (since the receiver has protection on EVERYTHING no matter the source). As long as I can get the signal into the receiver, I can record it nicely. I could get a cheap VCR to send RF into my composite switcher. I would rather get a console mod to at least get higher quality composite out instead, I just need to order the thing and install it.

    Kaboom's a max-out, what's the fun in that?
