Half way through this series of runs, I remembered the Steve Germershausen technique of coming off the right wall a little before firing the anticipatory shot, and it paid off. On another note, I'd LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE to have seen that 84. They would have had to anticipate every group, fire at just the right time every time, have quite a bit of RNG luck with the CPU missing all targets all the time, whilst the player misses none, and do it for 4,096 (64²) frames. Would be an amazing spectacle to watch, for sure. Can I get an AMEN in the hizzouse?

That'll never happen officially LOL! I'll settle for disputing it in my own mind ;-)

By my count, you missed 10 or 11 hittable targets, which makes the second placed score credible, and puts the top score well beyond possibility. That's a solid basis for a dispute, I should think, especially considering the bullshit on which certain disputes are based.

Exactly. There may be a counterargument regarding the number of variant amount of available targets throughout the 4096 frames (thanks, RNG), but 11 more? Psshhhttt. LOL!

Good shooting. Anytime you clear a screen early, you get to the next wave of targets 3/4 to 1/2 the time that it would normally take for the targets to move across the entire screen. Out of those 10 - 11 missed shots, that would equate to 11 points. Out of those 11 points, you would finish the screen early 11 more times and that would buy you and extra 3 screens or so (just my guess). If there is an average of 3 targets per screen, there are 9 more points left out there on the playfield.
    62 + 11 + 9 = 82
Just my view. I too would LOOOOOOOOOOOVE to see the video evidence of the 84. A perfect to near-perfect game.

    Accepted.
