You can't just hope a 'pede or a Spider will do what you want, you pretty much have to force them into a position where they only have one option of movement, that being where you want them to go.
I use cups that match perfectly to the lids of housing containers, stuff like that-Wife said if I ever had any escapees, the hobby was over, lol, and believe it or not I've managed to hold up to that-if you ask another 6/7 year keeper, they'll call B.S., but I swear, I'm just that careful-not interested in testing the pain scale...
