    Submission Message
Saw this in the arcades, but never really played it before. I'd say it's just average...the big weakness is the completely cheap enemy spawns - the wizard, for instance, can appear and shoot you before you even have time to react. This was my best run, but the last death was really annoying, and totally a choke job on my part...ah well.

    Thanks for reviewing.

    Artwork available
    - 0.181: Simulate Votrax SC-01 sound [O. Galibert]. Replaced Samples sound with Votrax SC-01 (720000 Hz).
    - 0.145u4: Hooked up Votrax properly to Wizard of Wor. Currently disabled by default, but can be enabled by turning off USE_FAKE_VOTRAX in astrocde.h.
    - 0.135u2: Volker Hann added clone Wizard of Wor (with German Language ROM).
    - 9th January 2009: Mr. Do - Kiltron took care of Wizard of Wor bezel, which comes courtesy of the BYOAC/CAG artwork. Probably one of the best (and few) classic-era games that I never got to enjoy in an actual arcade setting.
    - 0.123u3: RansAckeR added DIP locations and improved dipwitches in Wizard of Wor.
    - 0.115u2: Aaron Giles corrected speaker locations and placement for Wizard of Wor. Added missing mux to Gorf's audio, which controls speech versus sound effects during the game. Added 3rd sound channel and changed visible area to 352x240.
    - 0.115u1: Changed Z80 CPU and 2x Astrocade clock speeds to 1789772 Hz, palettesize to 512 colors and VSync to 60.054442 Hz.
    - 0.104u6: Removed Custom sound.
    - 0.88u2: Frank Palazzolo support stereo in Wizard of Wor (Sounds great now!!).
    - 0.37b7: Added samples (a, again, ahh, am, and, anew, another, any, anyone, appear, are, babies, back, beat, become, best, better, bite, bones, breath, but, can, cant, chance, chest, coin, dance, destroy, develop, do, dont, doom, door, draw, dungeon, dungeons, each, eaten, escape, explode, fear, find, fire, for, from, garwor, get, getting, good, hahahaha, harder, hasnt, have, heavyw, hey, hope, hungry, hurry, i, i1, if, ill, im, in, insert, invisibl, it, lie, magic, magical, me, meet, months, my, myself, near, never, now, of, off, one, only, oven, pause, pets, pop, powerful, radar, ready, rest, say, science, see, spause, start, the, then, through, thurwor, time, to, treasure, try, very, wait, war, warrior, watch, we, welcome, were, while, will, with, wizard, wont, wor, world, worlings, worlock, you, youd, youl and your.wav).
    - 29th March 2000: Nicola Salmoria fixed the Astrocade hardware star and sparkle generators.
    - 0.36b7: Added Custom sound.
    - 0.34b4: Emulation of the Astrocade sound chip (Extra Bases, Gorf, Robby Roto, Space Zap and Wizard of Wor) [Frank Palazzolo]. Added 2x Astrocade sound.
    - 0.33b4: Wizard of Wor supports word samples. Only 70% of the needed samples are available, however [Alex Judd].
    - 0.28: Mike Balfour added high score saving to Wizard of Wor.
    - 0.16: Nicola Salmoria fixed a couple of remaining graphic glitches in the Wizard of Wor driver.
    - 0.15: Thanks to the invaluable help of Steve Scavone, I've been able to fix many bugs in the Wizard of Wor driver [Nicola Salmoria].
    - 0.06: Beginning to understand how the Wizard of Wor video hardware works. Gameplay hasn't changed but the graphics are more faithfully reproduced [Nicola Salmoria]. Known issues: No background stars, no fade in/fade out. Many thanks to Jim Hernandez for the information on Wizard of Wor hardware.
    - 0.05: Nicola Salmoria fixed some problems in the Wizard of Wor driver, but it is still far from complete. Game is partially playable. NOTE: The original machine had a special joystick which could be moved either partially or fully in a direction. Pushing it slightly would turn around the player without moking it move. The emulator assumes that you are always pushing the joystick fully, to simulate the 'half press' you can press Alt.
    - 0.04: Nicola Salmoria added 'Wizard of Wor' (Midway 1980). Game is not playable, maybe accurate colors and no sound. Control: Arrows = Move around, CTRL = Fire and F2 = Test mode (keep it pressed). Known issues: This game is completely different from anything else I have emulated before. The video memory is bitmapped. There are no character generator ROMs, graphics data is contained in the code ROMs and the program sends commands to some custom circuitry on the board to do copies, fills and so on. Understanding how the thing works without the schematics is tricky. There are no memory mapped ports, everything is done via IN and OUT instructions. As of now, it is not playable because bullets don't work correctly.
    - 18th October 1996: Zonn dumped Wizard of Wor.
    - 17th January 1996: Dumped Wizard of Wor.
