Sounds like the one Mark Hoff referenced way back - the hard archives of the old printed copies from Twin Galaxies' scoreboard in the 80s (I think that was the era - Mark posted snapshots - the scoreboard was printed on yellow paper: description might help someone else find the posts here). Began with a V?

[Edit:] Found what it was I was remembering but it wasn't the Italian site. Mark definitely referenced them at some point, but it wasn't the printed copied! What I was remembering can be seen at

[Edit 2:] My memory was "correct" just munged the two together: Videogiochi

Yes, you have represented both sides of this argument in different discussions. :D (Probably me too!)

Thanks for the links, very interesting :) isn't videogiochi the same publication that is mentioned in that Nibbler "document"?

The first time I can remember any reference to Videogiochi was Mark's post. My memory is failing on anything Nibbler related. :(
I'd rather be last on every game than throw my time away chasing only one score.

I've found a probable good reason why my memory is failing:

Ahh, should have known UK has pretty strict copyright tendencies :D Anyways, it's just the Italian Nibbler gamer talking about reading that magazine.

In David Nelson’s defense I don’t think many fake scores got through under his watch

I know of one referee that set a new low on accuracy while David Nelson was Chief Ref. Just like every other era, the this has nothing to do with abilities of the Chief Ref of the day. In this case it was that referee's aim for high quantity throughput (and, IMO, ego thereabouts) - multiple of my own TGSAP corrections are a result of this one individual.
