Great score but I do have a question about the emulation used here. Is loading an Wii Homebrew channel legal for a score attempt for the Gamecube?
-Ohya, baby! I'm the first ever dude on the planet to get a documented PERFECT score on Bonk's Adventure!
I also have a high score on Alfred Chicken.... yeah, not as good.

This is played using Nintendont. Loads Gamecube ISO's from a USB or SD card.
I have had many scores accepted using this, including my other score for this track.
Think of it as an Everdrive for Gamecube.

I don't know if this is the same as a Everdrive though since this is using modded Wii software to run the files. Problem is I had some my older runs removed like https://www.twingalaxies.com/showthr...010-Ryan-Genno here for using a similar modded Wii. I don't mean to throw ya under the bus but isn't it the same thing or should this be moved to EMU selection?

It's a little hard to explain but this is different Ryan.

The Nintendo Wii without any modifications is capable of running Gamecube games, Matthew is just using Nintendont to load the game from a USB.

The Wii is not capable of running Sega Genesis games unless you use an emulator, which is not permitted, and that's what you did.

The game you submitted to is on the Wii Virtual Console platform and you didn't used the game released for that platform, you used the game released for the original Sega Genesis using an emulator.

The differences may be difficult to understand for people that aren't that familiar with the Wii but believe me, yours was incorrect, Matthew's is fine.

The original Wii can play Gamecube games yes but it definitely wasn't originally designed to run them from an emulation program like this. Sure it plays like the real thing once you load the files but that doesn't mean there can't be issues. For example: you said my score should be rejected since there are other Genesis games not released for the Virtual Console that could be found on the emulator but I didn't use those other games listed with my submissions and I'm sure there are extra prototypes, unreleased, or revisions that can be loaded from the one Matthew used so doesn't that create the same problem?

The problem with your submission using an emulator is not that you may be able to play more games than the ones oficially released by Nintendo.

The problem is that you were using a different platform to submit to the Nintendo Wii Virtual Console. The Wii console is not the same as the Wii Virtual Console. You were using the Wii + emulator.

Besides, everytime Mathew or myself use one of this programs to LOAD a game (not to emulate it), we show that cheats are disabled, your submision did not show that, even if the method you used was acceptable, it could have been rejected or disputed on that reason alone.

If I remeber correctly I send you a link on how and where to get the game, you just need to install it and play it from the Wii VC, its not like you are out of options.

For me personally, this is a 'no' vote. I wont actually vote "no" though, because it will end up hurting me.
In my opinion only real games should be used on real hardware. I dont even like it when someone uses a 3rd party controller. I know the Wii plays gamecube games and all that, but thats not what this is. If this was entered using a physical gamecube game or one from the virtual store I would be fine with it. But for submissions like this I simply dont vote, and personally I have the hope all these types of scores will all be wiped away as invalid one day.

We should ban Everdrives since they're not original game carts.

The only way to prove this is requiring camera footage to show no 3rd party controllers were used. I don't use 3rd party controllers, so I don't know if they provide any advantages or disadvantages. I don't necessarily disagree here, but I see where you're coming from.

All I'm doing is loading a Gamecube ISO from a USB and play it like any other Gamecube game. An NES Everdrive would load a ROM from an SD card and can be played like any other NES game. Cheats turned off, save states off, no advantages.
