    Dispute Evidence / Rationale
There is a Lode Runner game for the Colecovision in the form of a homebrew cartridge. However, this game was not released until 2013, or possibly 2012 at the earliest. Given that the date of this submission is for 2008, I feel that this score is not possible since no such game existed back in 2008.

I usually don't pay attention to the dispute queue so I missed this when it came around. I ordered a CollectorVision Lode Runner today and recalled the Mr. Duncan had a score for it, I looked to no avail. So I checked the accepted dispute section and found it there.

The disputer claims that since Tom's score was from 2008 and the game wasn't released until 2012-2013 that his entry couldn't be possible. True the *CollectorVision* release of LodeRunner wasn't until 2013, there was an earlier version by the same author, Steve Bégin, released in very limited numbers. I recall seeing references to, and pics of, the original release on AtariAge before the CollectorVision release and wanting it very badly. Then picked up the CV release when it went on sale only to trade later.

I found some references to the early version on AtariAge, mostly to prove to myself I wasn't crazy :). The September 2, 2009 thread, Pixelboy (Team Pixelboy) has mention of buying a copy from the author in 2005. And there are many other references to the original version, see below.

It's certainly possible that Tom did play a version of Lode Runner on a ColecoVision in 2008. The track does not specify a version, probably because, at the time, there was only one. I don't think Tom's score should have been nuked for the reasons of the original disputer.

It all started in late 2005, when I met Steve Bégin at the Arcadia Festival in Montreal. He told me he had one last copy of Penguin Land and Lode Runner that he could sell me, and we concluded the transaction by e-mail soon after.

I hope Steve starts programming games for the ColecoVision again. I was very very lucky to get a copy of Penguin Land and Lode Runner from him a few years back.

You'll be happy to know that the ColecoVision port of the SG-1000 version will be re-released later this year by CollectorVision. Steve Bégin (the original author of the port) is currently doing some minor modifications to the ROM in preparation for this re-release, and one of these modifications will make the level editor more directly accessible from the title screen. From what I understand, you could only access the level editor in the original game if you were playing it on the SC-3000 computer.

True, but there was also way less Lode Runner cartridges than Penguin Land ones, mostly because only members of CCJVQ was able to get a Lode Runner cartridge.

There are 2 versions of Lode runner on Colecovision. The two are very good. But the more recent one is the one to get. There is lot of improvment and is very close to the C64 version. It is a fantastic port.

    ColecoDan writes:
The old one only came in cart version and only 25 - 40 were made. They have a different label and will be a lot more expensive. That will tell you it is the old one
