Your run begins once you select a New Game (Not Continue) on the Campaign Mode (Normal game only, not hard) and ends once you destroy the Deathray on Lord Sturm's compound thus finishing the game. You can continue after a defeat and go to bonus maps so your team can use the new Neotank but of course that can affect your overall time. You can change options to quicken battle speeds but you can can't reload saves.

This is one of my favourite strategy games for any system and I just had to try a full run!

Sorry but voting no. The New Game selection occurs around 0:51.

Oof yeah, he selects it at 0:50 but it doesn't go through until 0:51, which means he actually finished a second earlier, so ironically his time is even more impressive. Just resubmit with the fixed time, it'll likely take another year :/.

I have the run starting at 50.74s. I'm basing that on the banner at the bottom of screen disappearing indicating the button was pressed. I have the game ending at 7:45:56.204s. Based that on when the crosshairs disappear indicating the button press to destroy the satellite dish. The tricky part comes with rounding and the give/take factor used in previously accepted timed submissions. If you rounded the times up/down, the start time would be :51s, end time would be at 7h:45m:56s, totaling 7h:45m:05s. However, it used to be where if a player submitted a time that was slightly slower it would be accepted due to the difficulty in how TG would time runs. Since this is less than half a second lost by my calculations if you had used decimals in the time submitted, I'd be okay accepting the time submitted.

Side note, I haven't watched the submission in full.

When you put it that way, I wouldn't be opposed to changing my vote to a yes with the option of resubmitting to shave the second off, but that's up to Ryan. I haven't watched the full submission either, but I've watched a couple of 20-30 second random samples and since this is a speedrun I didn't watch to see if there was any leeching.

No leeching in this game. It's a strategy game. You move/create all of your pieces in one turn, then the enemy does the same. Rinse, repeat until you capture their base or destroy all their troops. I don't think Ryan is going to resubmit, there were a few complications with some of his submissions and I haven't seen him around since. Accepting a score that is half a second slower over an almost 8 hour run isn't to big a deal. If you think about it, having him submit a time of 7:45:05 would give him a half second advantage he didn't earn. That's the tricky part of the rounding system, which is why this slower time would be accepted over a time that he didn't achieve.

It's up to you, no worries. That's why timed runs sit in the queue so long.
