pole position intellivision

@redelf @Rogerpoco so i'm working through this one and i know john cares about pole position in general, and roger you competed on this in particular.

so i got some questions, are rather, asking you to confirm beliefs

1. Its basically just a memorization pattern game right? cause the qualifying lap as well as first lap i pretty much have memorized
2. the second lap, and third (just made it to beginning of third), at first i thought i was getting distracted or the game was glitching (glitches are common in intellivision games i noticed), but then i realized no, its regulalry happening, turns are actually harder to take in later laps. I'm not sure this makes sense to simluate the real world, unless the idea is your tires are more worn or something right? But is this how it works or am i just a sore loser that doesnt want to accept i'm just screwing up when theres more cars?
3. i noticed at the end of the turn, even if you're not turning you'll move like you are. that is to say, if its a right turn, and you're turning right, of course you'll first slip then move right again when the turn is gentler. i noticed though if i move right, then straighten before the curve ends, i'll still slip left (understandble) but then slip right when i should just being still slipping left at a lower right. did you guys notice the same thing?
4. the manual does say it ends on lap 4, is it theoretically marathonable, but realistically due to increased difficulty just not possible to pass lap 4?

Oh roger, i'm practicing off video, betweeen you and me i beat your score, but i got no proof :)

    Go get it, Man!!!

If you remember, I actually told you I thought you would like it!

I think I improved my score by just a little bit, but didn't get around to subbing it-PC crash, everything is gone, lol, so "no vid, no did"! :)

I really do want to get a working INT going again, and this is a game I wanted to revisit, big time.

I have to be straightforward-I'm not as observant as you, as far as the game getting harder later, I just remember trying not to crash!!!

Is a great game, to me it proves out how responsive the INT "brick" really is, once you get the hang of it-I think I remember downshifting to take some of the turns, and was tough, but "natural" after a while.

Thinking to pull out the 5200 again soon, PP is one I wanted to revisit there, for sure!

Do Awesome, Man, is a fun game-slipping between the cars, instead of around them late in the game seems to be something I remember helping?

    Practicing off video?

That has cost me days and days, several times, trying to replicate my best.

Yeah, but sometimes it takes a while...

5200 is very differnet due to the analog control, but i like that better. i mean driving is analog, granted a wheel not a stick, but still. so it adds a nice level of dexterit to it. alot of 5200 games dont utilize the analog, which is my big complaint, you have controllers that easily break due to the analog, and to make matters worse so few games even benefit over the analog. this however is one game that does utilize the analog.

I've never played it on the INT so can't offer much help. Now in the Arcade version on PP2 Atari made it so that the turns are banked and it affects your car, so INT might have been trying to do that affect and that is what you are feeling.
