Nomination of RTM for IVGHOF
I have gone to http://www.ivghof.info/ to nominate RTM for the Golden Age Gamer division, although truth be told, I think he's really in his own division since its largely his work as chief ref that leads to his fame, but there is no division for TG former refs, so golden gamer will do.
I dont think he has a bigger critic at TG than myself, so hopefully if I can look at the bigger picture and see hes earned it, others can too. I included his old email that he used to publicize on this site and others for contact, I dont know if that is still used. We're not friends and I dont feel comfortable reaching out to him on this as that information would be creepy for me to ask for, but hopefully those of you who are closer can also nominate him with updated info.I hope enough of us can nominate him and show this community recognizes history and accuracy above all else.
Below is my writeup/rationale for why he belongs. This is just a summary of course and i'm sure others can include different reason to nominate him.:
Star wars marathon high score
former chief referee
multiple movie appearances
If I may elaborate on the above... It is the hall of "fame" -- emphasis on "fame". I don't think Robert's fame is in doubt. At Twin Galaxies he's been bestowed the "Legendary Member" status. He's in all the movies that talk about Twin Galaxies (just referred to as "TG" for the rest of this write up. It can be argued within the world of TG others may be better known, however, on the outside to the wider general audience, anyone just watching the films will remember/recognize Robert. I don't think its possible to find a more known name from the Twin Galaxies pool of gamers that the IVGHOF pulls from more -- other names are equally known of course, but I can think of none that are more so, just equally. He also wrote the leeching policy which guides TG decision making to this day, and was heavily involved in many of the high profile score disputes.
