Playing on harder difficult than rule set

So i recall there was a provision in arcade to play on harder settings unless it could be proven that gave some advantage. My question is for intellivision. Since intellivision many times the only difference between hard/easy is fast/slow. The only advantage to playing on hard and submititng to easy is boredom/endurance (would definitley be an advantage for marathon games).

Even more specifically it helps i'm asking about burger time. theres a track for hard and easy. i'm practicing on hard, havent bothered to film yet, but when i do if i get a good hard time i'd like to double submit if the global rules allow playing on harder setting in situations like this.

Everyone should just play on the specified settings. That's it.

I feel dumb having to explain why. So I won't.

Just double submit anyway. Blind voters will make sure it gets accepted. Dispute system takes decades anyway.

damn young people always changing what every word means. Just when I thought I figured out "on fleek" and "yolo" you go and mix it all up again.

by the way, i looked up "double submit" on google, and at least the first 10 entries were all how i use it, well, close, its main use seems to be double submitting a form electronicaly like when tg gives us duplicate comment entries

so it turns out i'm not that out of touch after all, you're just all perverts

    Bingo...

Sometimes with the harder settings, one can score more possible points, in say, easy or default.

    Eg. Rockband/Guitar hero, etc.

Unless a track says "any difficulty" under the rules, then SELECT whatever you want. Otherwise, OBEY the rules.

Any perverted submissions will be EXPOSED as such!

And that goes for TV reflections as well.

As an example of scoring differences, Nova2001 awards higher bonus points on hard than on easy (50 pts hard, 10 easy). That ads up quite a lot.

I practice on hard then go for a good score on easy (or whatever the default is, I forget).

my original comment acknowledges some games on hard have scoring differences. I think psp was right about datgod and marcade, they wanna talk but not listen.

anyway appreciate the answers, i figured as much but also figured it was worth asking. playing on slow is gonna be soooooo boring.

as much as i enjoy learning semantics does it bother you constantly correcting people's vocabulary when they're right and youre wrong? Just because your vocabulary is so limited that you dont know common words doesnt mean they dont exist. i'd point you to a dictionary but considering how easy they are to come by i suspect you cant be bothered to learn.

seriously man. i appreciate your toning down you're outright insults, but wasting my time on trolling with this stuff is beneath you.

The best part is somebody who lives in the birthplace of the English language tries to correct a person on their use of an actual word ( practicing ) while misspelling their own word ( advicing ).

    LOL

derp derp me fail english? that's unpossible!

I wasn't pointing out a semantic error. It was a spelling error. When it comes to proper English, I am never wrong. In this case, I believe that, even within your dumbed down "American English", the verb form of 'practice' (noun) is spelt: P-R-A-C-T-I-S-E. Not going to bother checking, though, since that would be a real waste of time.

Incidentally, I do not insult anyone without first being insulted by the one in question.

    Practice?

    We're talking about PRACTICE????

(OK, now that my Iverson impression is out of the way...)

    :P

Snow, I may start picking on you soon. I'm behind a computer screen, so I can be as tough as I want to be.

    :)

Anything like this is purely subjective, everyone would and should have their own opinion.

IMO, you are honest to goodness likely in and around a top 5 overall Guy ever. The games you take on are tough, and you beat some of the best at some of their best games. I'm not blowing smoke, tho you know my Worldview of "Who's Who" is probably small.

But you spend too damned much time thinking, Man, when you could be spending that time playing.

"This rule, that rule", "What's the story on some Ghost who doesn't even have scores here anymore".

Just be an Athlete, man, not an Athletic Supporter like Data(OMG, LOL! Couldn't resist...).

Ah that’s just it though I was looking to save time. Not only is slow mind numbingly slow but now I need two submissions instead of one for a game that’s really no different

I was looking to save time plus I thought it would be cool to try to beat the slow scores on fast

I would normally never even question or suggest such a thing as I see a lot of problems with it but since I thought it was historically allowed I asked. You know, even a bad idea becomes ok if it was previously allowed

I noticed you played. Any suggestions especially on lvl 4 and 7

    Nope.

I'm pretty sure my scores on that game are the results of less than a handful of attempts, unfortunately.

I am passively looking for another working INT tho, mebbe someday.

Really glad you took my being silly as me being silly, was intended as a "backhanded compliment".

I mentioned the joke to my Wife, she acted like I was an idiot and that no one would possibly understand that.

I showed her that vid, kinda led to a semi-fight-she acts like I'm a dummy a lot, when in fact, there's a lot of things that most everyone knows and she doesn't, I really enjoy when I am able to point it out...

    :)

(Oh, Data-couldn't help myself, Man, you know I love you Bro!!!)
