I seriously don't understand why this won't go away. It is like having friends who get divorced and they keep digging up dirt on each other.

Is this all just to get another play produced?

"Twin Galaxies CEO Jace Hall responded in a lengthy court document where he outlined the process. Hall said Twin Galaxies spent “thousands of dollars to adjudicate the claim.” He called the process the “most professionally documented and thoroughly investigated video game score of all time,” noting the “expense, transparency, and length of investigation.”

I would like to know who is leaking court documents to Polygon.

That was such a sad movie. The book was even sadder.

i'm guessing its public record, but most of us just dont think where to check it. i also doubt polygon regulalrly checks for such things. yes, no doubt someone who wanted this to be a circus sent things over. oh gee.... who likes circuses.

As this has reached this point in the legal process it is likely best to leave all responses up to Jace Hall.

Billy's original "Evidence Package" has since been preserved as he made subsequent changes to it. TG's efforts have been well-documented and are publicly transparent.

At this point it seems clear that Billy has dug in his heels regardless of what the outcome of TG's efforts were and regardless of all technical expertise that contributed towards the final decision to remove his scores.

Every US citizen is entitled to their proverbial day in court, but if it is determined that his lawsuit has no merit(s) then I hope that he is forced to reimburse court costs and all legal fees of the defendant.

I see that there is an anti-slapp lawsuit filed again billy in response. so yes, it appears there will be some punishment for this. My question is, as i'm not a lawyer, what is the penalty in losing anti-slapp? are there other reprecussions in that the antislapp essentailly accuses harassment and bad intent does being found guilty of such things have its own set of reprecussions?

It would be nice if, in court, he was forced to admit why...even though he roundly panned KoK for its portrayal of him...he created the "King of Kong Arcade" at a Florida-based airport including the original movie poster at the entrance (which years back he told me that his artist re-created with alternations this it was not the original...but looking at it you could not tell the difference).

Plus he seemingly embraced the off-off-Broadway type "KoK Musical" which also made no sense.

Just as WWF's Vince McMahon was forced in court to reveal that wrestling was scripted else he would have had to part sports tax vs entertainment tax, I'm hoping that Billy is forced to reveal his behind the scenes nonsense as well.

RTM REPLY - I looked it up and the outcome varies by state...I am assuming that means the state within which the legal challenge was filed...

    https://www.dmlp.org/legal-guide/state-law-slapps

    For Florida specifically - https://www.dmlp.org/legal-guide/anti-slapp-law-florida

"If you succeed in fending off a SLAPP in Florida, you may be able to bring a claim of malicious prosecution against the SLAPP filer. While Florida does not explicitly recognize a "SLAPPback" claim, the elements of a malicious prosecution claim are similar. You should consult an attorney to see whether such a claim may be viable in your case. "

I have to imagine that Jace and his team are well prepared for taking immediate action should they succeed in defeating Billy in court.

What is unknown...there were a lot of people in the original "Evidence Package" that signed affadavits or affirmations to support Billy's claim, such as but not limited to Brian Kuh and Walter Day. I wonder whether these people can be forced to answer for their roles in Billy's nonsense ?

If a lawsuit requires immediate action then it is highly likely that video depositions and testimony will not only be allowed but will be required. After all, Jace is west coast and Billy is east coast, and this is not a climate that affords all people to be in the same court at the same time.

i read the nonsense. outside of sadly walter and billy there were no false claims. people would say things like they saw him playing, but never saw the board or score -- so in other wrods what they saw was worthless. there was basically a lot of witnesses testimony that just boiled down to verifying they saw him play donkey kong, or that they once physcially held the tapes. nothing useful for sure, and likely nothing false.
