Odyssey 2 "take the money and run"

i had forgotten i meant to talk about this.

so i played the game. i like the flavor/gimmicks and i like even the core idea, the implemenatoin was sadly off but still.

basically you either avoid or chase robots (never both goals at the same time sadly, it alterntes). some robots represent bad economy, taxes, fines, all bad things, those you flee from. some represent dividens, bull stock markets.... of course all the good things fucntion identially, so just labeling one robot a bull market and another robot income has no gameplay effect, they both function simply as robots you should chase. so desite having like 8 labels for robots, theres realy only 2 types of robots.

the game is 2 player. there is some strategy, not entirely unlike lode runner in taking advantage of the robots AI (yes yes AI is saying it strongly, more like the algorithm for the goblins in pacman).

the game never ends. the 2 players agree on themselves at what point they'll end. so it would have to be time based. either speedrun to a fixed score, or top score in fixed time.

its really not the worst game ever, just slighly bad, yet playable. tracking it however, well i can see why noone did before, but it might be something worth reconsidering

    2 player, game never ends-

    Just doesn't seem trackable, Man.

Can you play only one player, even if the game is "two player"?

If so, mebbe a speedrun to X points, but other than that, I dunno.

well the instructions guidelines is the 2 players agree upon a score at which to stop. your both on screen at the same time, but you're both focused on the robots. you can to some degree try to use your opponent as bait. point is, this isnt a fighting game versus 2 player style. its more you both do your own thing but try to do it faster than the other guy/gal.

yes you can play alone. i did. the instructions seemed to indicate the game stops at a million as thats the suggested score that first one to get to wins. but i got to a million and it didnt roll or max.

    Welcome back to Twin Galaxy.

It was not the same without you. I hope you have learned to be a functioning citizen of socity. However, I have a feeling that like most people released from prison you learned more about the tricks of the trade than you did about why you were there to begin with.

indeed. i had time to reflect and reexamine the writings of my hero (really all of our hero) roy and realized how poorly i handled some things. I'm good with science but need help with human interactoin still. I hope to one day learn to walk the line as well as he did/does

Boy, the Steve Miller Band is really getting a lot of "why am I humming that" action going on in my subconcious lately...
