Well...

This is somewhat refreshing. Knowing that the reasons I avoided this site in the past for so long...are gone. Not sure how that translates into my time spent here going forward... but it definitely affected it in the past.

Now I feel like I need to take some real time to look around this place...

The past is over... what's next?

Some console records? Maybe a record on an arcade title you used to play but set aside in pursuit of Nibbler?

I'm aiming for a new arcade high score on Cosmic Avenger. It's one of the original titles on the ColecoVision, it was my first introduction to the game in fact. I *think* a local arcade briefly had CA on the floor, but the memory is so hazy I can't rely on it. Ten years ago I acquired an original Cosmic Avenger cabinet, I think it was the second game in the small basement arcade.

I'm also interested in seeing where TG goes next - Jace posted a Forbe's article a while back that highlighted Rick Fox as co-owner. After Echo Fox, I imagine that Rick is looking to re-engage with the gaming community. Looking forward to seeing the next chapter.

might ijust say, with my stint at coleco i looked up the equivalent arcade games and i started to notice a pattern in your arcade collection. I assume thats not a coincidence? totally in love with your theme. i think any arcade buyer knows how hard it is to pick a specific title. its one thing to say "heres a dozen titles i like, lets wait and see until one of them comes up" its quite another to say "i want this title in particular".

    admirable

to tim, you might wanna look at new ways we have to compete as well. theres "ESI" to compete on the platform level. Many critics will correctly point out ESI is far form perfect, and as much as i agree with all the complaints i also believe its better than nothing and provides another metric to compete on.

It was a case of good fortune for sure. I wasn't really in a position to pay to have a game shipped to me so I was at the mercy of what came up within driving distance. Of course that's a pretty subjective measurement so in my case the longest one-way drive to grab a game was 5 hours. I would have entertained further is necessary. And in that context I was particularly fortunate that some of my fav titles were on offer during that time when I started to look. If I had more room I would definitely branch out into some 90s titles, but I'm not complaining. :)
