Former TG Member Wants Scores Removed

Hello everyone,
Former TG member Tom Duncan wants his scores removed from Twin Galaxies.
I found Tom Duncan on Ebay after looking through some listings.
The messages were sent from bottom to top.
I'm confident that this is Tom Duncan because "duncantoml" was his username on the old TG forums and is the name for his YouTube channel, and how he references Rudy.

If there's any doubt, that's definitely Tom Duncan's ebay account.

I guess he's hoping with new ownership, there's been a policy change.

That piece of garbage tampered with the scoreboard and like MOST former refs if I wanted a score from them. I TOOK it. Fact

ya ur totally right because its also stupid that usain bolt cant remove his track scores from olympic records if he wants to either and fifa teams should be able to remove their records too and everyone should be able to remove their records from everywhere if they want to

Hi Jesse. Are there any score sites that you know of that allow removal of own scores?

    Serious question.

yes. speedrun. com and speeddemosarchive. com will let you. technically i can remove my scores here but its a hassle. with SDA there is a process but not nearly as much of a headache and with SR its just a click of a button.

Yeah speedrun.com makes it very easy. Too easy if you ask me. Itshould at least be met with some consideration by the moderator of that scoreboard.

Tom is a former TG ref. He seems stuck on Rudy - how was he aware that Rudy was unable to dispute scores yet if he wants nothing to do with the forums?

I call this as I see it - get me out of there by my own request before my scores are removed by executive decision. I don’t know Tom. I’ve beaten a couple of his records. They’re not all unreasonably hard. He doesn’t have Rodgers Syndrome really. But there’s a lot of suspicion.

Yes when people want to cut and run it raises red flags. I'd rather have disputes run their course to document - if there is merit, scores will be removed and documented.

Drag his name through the mud first. If he's a cheater he deserves it. End of story

I'm aware of one score of his that I will dispute whenever I earn enough cred. Not because I think he cheated, but because the track is impossible, so I believe it is the result of clerical error.

Interesting that he claims he wants nothing to do with TG, yet is acutely aware of the current rules regarding the new dispute system. Seems to want to attack @CONSOLEPLAYEROFTHECENTURY but won’t come on here and do it publicly.

    Stupid.

exactly my thoughts when I read this

If someone just wants to remove one or two scores I have a big problem with that, because its my suspicion there that they just want to remove the few scores were they were proven cheating and hide that evidence to protect their other scores. Without restarting another controversy, i'll just say I believe this has already happened once and I'm pretty upset about it.

because of this, i think it has to be all or nothing. If someone asks just one score to go, we have to investigate it for cheating, and if so, remove them all, the fact they requested their cheating be removed doesnt protect the other scores.

This is a little different, Tom is requesting they ALL be removed. Gotta tell you, I know i'm known for being a bit of a aggressive, blunt loud mouth but as long as he wants them all removed i feel like problem solved and I dont feel the need to drag his name through the mud. It is video games after all. Dont get me wrong, i take fake scores very very serious, but thats just it, its all about the scorebaord to me. I get pissed at people because of how it affects the scoreboard, once the issue is resolved and the person can no longer do any harm i can move on and be friends with the person in other aspects of life. Of course, maybe its easy for me to be forgiving since i never wasted my time competing with a score he faked, so I guess if theres more emotion with others he screwed over i get that too.

Yes, i want cheaters banned. I want their scores stripped. I will be as rude as need be to bring up what needs to be brought up to make that happen. After that happens though, i'm happy. The entire focus for me is the scorebaord itself. If he'll be voluntarily banned and stripped then i'm a lot more inclined to be polite and nice to him.

i couldnt enlarge the photo from the desktop, but i knew from eveyrone else's comments he did ask for removal. I just went into my phone so i could enlarge it. man, what a jerk. even still, stand by my prior comments that once his scores are gone thats the important thing, and we can take the high road, but i can really see why people would be tempted to drag his name through the mud.

I've never read anything from him other than those few paragraphs and i'm already seeing arrogance, condescenscion, suspcious statements (i wont outright accuse lying, but as dadsglasses point out his claims of having nothing to do with tg are inconsistent with his intimate knowledge of it), no wonder why this is personal for people. The dude is not good with people.

    I agree with @Snowflake

I care more about the scoreboard being cleaned up than I do about dragging his name through the mud.

I guess the issue is this: if a player voluntarily removes his/her scores from the database, then it gives the player the ability to say, “I wasn’t kicked off TG, I voluntarily left because that place sucks.” So the follow up question has to be: does that really matter?

If Tom wants his scores removed, he just has to log in and say, “I cheated. I want my scores removed from the Database permanently.”

It once again comes down to who is the custodian of the record itself.

He can ask all he wants, but until something is proven like cheating, the scores won't likely come down. We just gotta keep disputing them one at a time until we crack it wide open.
@starcrytas - assure him we're working on getting all his scores removed lol

loosely related, on a personal note, i recently bought an atari 400 (which i love,). I own no games for it and am just borrowing games from two different friends. Im borrowing K-razy antics as it has 7 records and so a chance to earn 7 esi points to climb the leaderboard for it. I'm a little sad if tom's scores get removed i'll loose out on the esi possibility since all 7 of those scores are his (game has absurd amount of tracks made for it)

oh well. just a reminder that removing cheaters scores hurt too, because if they submit any low scores someone beat, the someone like me loses that recognition for beating it. still the right thing to do of course, just a sad reminder that when the scoreboard gets polluted there are all sorts of negative side effectes

Interesting. Rudy has made claims for a long time about Tom and now this "just remove em all"? Seems off to me. Submitted VHS tapes for 5600+ records when you were a ref and everyone now knows from Robert M about refs self-entering scores... just makes me go hmmm is all....

I was the first person to get 199000 on Pitfall ll for the 5200 and when I came on here bragging about it and sent it to Troy Whalen, just right before my score was in and verified, Duncan had the score just before me by Whalen. This is the same s... Patterson did. It's not a f...... conscience either
