Xbox controller died

So it turns out the reason I have missed about 80 putts short and several approach shots short is because my control was on it's last legs. The wires had been exposed for years and I guess it finally had enough. At least, I hope that is what was causing those issues. So now I'm breaking out the old back up which has about 8 years of less wear and tear on it. Feels brand new, even the little nipples on the thumb sticks are still there.

I have to replace the thumbstick on my preferred original Xbox controller - all that Burnout resulted in part of the rubber coating breaking off, and it makes it too uncomfortable to use.

I did have another ready to go to also, similar to yours - the thumbstick nubs were even still there. Just standard black vs the transparent blue of my preferred one.

I am prepared for the future though - I still have a third controller still in the original clamshell packaging! I think it's one of the goodies I was able to grab while I was working at Xbox, during one of their closet cleanouts of old stuff. It's how I have like a half-dozen games still sealed too (including my Conker)!

Yeah, that old one of mine was so broke in. The buttons lots most of the bounce back so it make for some pretty quick tapping when necessary. I also had a part of the rubber break off on the left thumbstick. The very bottom tip so it wasn't bad. It was starting to lose the sensitivity in it. The diagonal directions where very specific. This new controller is much more sensitive and the diagonal seems to be anywhere that isn't directly down....I miss my controller.

Horrible side note, my banking information got hacked and someone purchased a $1800 Pixel 4 this weekend with my money. So I've spent all day today changing my bank account and getting new credit cards. It's been a great day.

My bank is going to refund the money...apparently this happens a lot nowadays. Kind of funny, I've been reading many places that the new google update for phones is being hacked a **** load. Guess what I just did on Thursday? Updated my phone. Coincidence? I had them suspend my PayPal account so no further transactions can go happen. I've already got a new bank account, going to get new credit cards just because I might as well. Better to be safe than sorry.

Just a shitty deal. Did anybody see that Ring home security system video about a guy hacking someones home and actually harassing an 8 year old girl?! WTF is wrong with people? Just sick. Then the entire city of New Orleans was hacked last week. It's just ridiculous what is happening anymore. Seems to me the hackers the smartest people on the planet and instead of working for companies, they would rather **** with people.

Sorry to hear of anyone experiencing the arse-end of technology. No attempt at scare-mongering but your experience is a tiny scratch on the surface of what's going on. The problem is that people are using more technology than they are willing to understand - and that's pushed by the big brother corporations dangling ever-faster bling-technology without the security thought out. These home security systems are easily broken and this is years after kids toys were connected to the Internet without security.

Rule of thumb if anyone is unsure:

    - If it's connected, it can be compromised. If the tech is more recent, it'll be compromised quicker and will be more open to sharing your details.

Yep, it's pretty gross. But anything to make a quick buck, right? Put the product out there, we will deal with the after math with a quick patch later.
