Bought a house...for the third time!!

The wife and I just bought a house this weekend! Slowly but surely we are moving to our "final home" one house at a time, haha. Each home is an upgrade from the previous one. Our first home was big enough home for us, but it needed quite a bit of updating. All the windows where the old wooden pulley windows and there where a lot of them, furnace was a boiler, roof was older, no central air. Don't get me wrong, a great house, but not efficient at all utility wise.

The current home we live in was an absolute **** hole and much smaller, not ideal with 4 kids. Complete gut job...I'll never forget the smell of the carpet when I removed it by myself and loaded it up on the trailer...I took it out the burn pile and took a 20 minutes shower. Horrible. We took the equity from our first home and now this baby has a new roof, furnace, bathroom, carpet, kitchen island, appliances. I power washed the front porch, the wife sealed it. Graded the yard so no water seepage into the house anymore. The siding is probably the only part of this house we haven't replaced at this point and it really doesn't need it. Best part of this whole thing is we are going to make over double what it cost us to buy and put into it. Pretty damn good 1yr 9mth investment if you ask me.

The new home doesn't need anything done to it at all on the main floor. It has 3 bedrooms upstairs (the largest one was sadly converted into a walk in shower/laundry room for the old lady who lived there). The basement needs gutted. Easy work though. Drywall, move a few walls which isn't a big deal, new flooring and that's about it. 2 bedrooms and a living room down there. Much more room. Everyone but the boys will have their own rooms. Boys don't care, they have bunk beds and never play in their room anyway. 3 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, walk out basement door. And the home is literally 1 property over from our current home which means all the neighbor kids and friends are the exact same. Best part, we will own 95% of the home upfront from the equity of our current home and probably add another $20K in value redoing the basement ourselves.

So that pretty much sums up my absence on here the last 4 months or so. That and I have been playing games for fun with the kids. There are a lot of troubling things going on in the US right now, but I'm pretty damn happy with my life...AND IT'S MY BIRTHDAY TODAY!!

Ha, I'm going to leave it just to see what kind of trouble it may stir, hehe! Let's start a proper gossip/rumor then; Mr. Sroka is financing this endeavor and at a pretty decent interest rate.
