TWIN GALAXIES
Hello everyone,
We want to clarify a few important points regarding the adjudication process:
There is no issue with the video player affecting timing or causing artificially slowed playback. Any claims suggesting a technical malfunction in this regard are incorrect.
Through investigation, we have confirmed that the in-game map timer does not keep perfect real-world time—it runs slightly slower relative to actual time. However, this affects all players equally.
This does not impact the competition's fairness, as all submissions are judged based on the same in-game timer rather than real-world time.
-=> Key Reminder for Adjudicators:
Since the blue in-game clock does not run in perfect synchronization with real-world time, adjudicators are advised not to use the Twin Galaxies video player’s built-in timer as a direct comparison to the in-game “big blue” clock.
The concern is that a submitter will report their final in-game clock time (which, per the rules, is the correct method), and adjudicators might mistakenly compare that to the video player’s elapsed time and assume an error—without realizing that the in-game timer does not function on a perfect real-time scale.
To be clear, this guidance does not suggest that real-time tracking or the video player's clock can’t be used to assess the overall validity of a performance. It is simply to ensure that the in-game clock is understood as its own independent timing system.
Lastly, while this discovery explains some timing discrepancies, it does not rule out the possibility of players deliberately submitting slowed gameplay. Please continue to review submissions carefully and remain vigilant.
Thank you for your attention and commitment to fair competition!
