Comments for Clone Consoles

Alright, thoughts on the Analogue consoles? I'm totally up for considering them acceptable - I mean, they may only be 99.99% identical, but we're not going to get better than that in any newly made consoles. Also, nobody is going to buy one for the purposes of trying to get some sort of tiny edge in scoring. Just don't allow them for speedruns (as if many people are submitting them here).

I love the concept of FGPA (Field Gate Programmable Arrays) which is what allows you to perform a type of hardware emulation. The JROK boards do this. I am in favor of JROK tracks being folded into arcade tracks. I would be in favor of these new Analogue consoles being tracked the same as the originals.

However, if there is any evidence of a play difference, then we need to revisit.

I like original hardware separated from everything else. Analogue should be part of "Emulated", which to me encompasses everything non-original.

I'm not saying they have been allowed. Just giving that room for the Analogue system debate. It's a wiki, so feel free to tweak the language if you have something you think fits better.

My purist objections are nullified since flashcsrts aren't pure. I think the only functional objection is what if an issue is found later and then it's almost impossible to split and undo the damage not to mention the controversy over cred recalculation when people realize they voted wrong on something they were led to believe was correct. I think adjudicators need to be warned to only accept clones if they're 100% sure there are no issues and if an issue is found he prepared for the reversal. You can't one day claim to be 100% sure but then the next day say you didn't know what you were doing. If anyone is unsure they should abstain and honestly I don't see how it's possinle to be sure no differences exist

I also think this would be an easier sell if admin would add a column to the table indicating if it was done on original or if clone list clone. That would remove my objections
