In Need Of Some Video Editing Advice

So I'm once again reaching out to the wonderful tech laden community of TG for some help. I'm basically doing stream highlights of my wife's cake decorating streams for her. I've gotten our first video up on YouTube, and I'm not super happy with it. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited and proud that I created a watchable video. I learned a lot, but there's definitely some stuff I'm missing.

Most important thing I learned would be that getting background music SUCKS! I really don't want to throw down any money yet. I thoroughly dislike Youtube's selection of approved music. I know MonsterCat will offer music free of charge, but will take your ad revenue until you pay them. I'm 50/50 on that one.

So I'm wondering if any of you wonderful people can point me in the right direction. I'm looking for some music I can use that doesn't suck and doesn't cost (I know that's a lot to ask, but there's hidden gems all over the web) and any general help with making videos for Youtube. I'm definitely a n00b, but I really want to learn.

Classical music has no copyright but the performance is copyrighted. I know I’m not pointing you to a specific site but that’s all I got

Performances older than 50 years ago are now in the public domain. That is why you see all sorts of CD's coming out at Christmas for super cheap, showing big bands / classical / etc. At least a few years ago. CD's are retro now!

I found this to be a great site:

I have no advice. I tried to start a youtube channel once, but my videos sounded so bad that I never posted them, so heres hoping you succeed where I failed so miserably. If you could post a link, I subscribe to man about cake, and how to cake it, so it sounds like something Id watch. Its possible youre just being too hard on yourself

Actually, I do have one small piece of advice now that I think about it. There are several free music sites that only ask creators to post a link to where they got the music from in the video description. There are also several pay sites with free trial periods, so look for youtubers whose background music you enjoy, and with a little digging, you should be able to figure out where at least a few of them got their tunes from.

    Since it was requested: https://youtu.be/MgRmqXkf7x4

Used the stock YouTube freebie music. I don't hate it, but I don't love it. It was definitely a great experience though. I got to do the little ukulele bit at the beginning, my wife wanted something "slow and Hawaiian" I woulda liked a little diff, but she liked it so, its in.

And I did just learn that monetizing on YouTube isn't like it was 10 years ago, so MonsterCat is a super viable option I think. I saw freemusicarchive.org is shutting down, sad.

That was good. Part of what I love about YouTube is that you get to see people just being people in a way that you don't get through network TV, and that definitely shown through here. You can tell someone has a passion for what theyre doing when they start to smile and they don't realize theyre doing it...it was neat to see. Hawaiian kinda fit with the floral and grass themes she had going on. Hopefully yall talk in the next one...At any rate great first effort, and hopefully we start seeing more soon.

Appreciate the feedback. The audio has been my biggest issue. She's plays music while she streams so all the original audio is basically useless. Definitely want to improve her stream (we threw it together one night on a whim and she got like 3 follows and 50 views that night) Iwant to add chat to the stream, though lack of audio makes that kinda moot for YT, get a good overlay and some other stuff. First and foremost I'm gonna have to figure out what in the funk to do with the audio. Time to get my think on.

I've got no input on the subject - I muted everything because of the music problems on YouTube. I gave up posting in August.
