Fortnite Battle Royale has seen its fair share of new weapon additions since it was first released and now the latest new weapon to be announced for the popular battle royale game of Fortnite has been revealed by Epic Games. 

The in-game new tab for Fortnite was updated on Monday, September 10th and it announced that a new suppressed assault rifle weapon will be "coming soon" to the highly popular battle royale game. 

The new suppressed assault rifle utilizes the scar assault rifle weapon that is already a weapon in Fortnite but includes a new skin that has a black and gray camo design and the all too important silencer at the end of its barrel.

This new weapon will be the first non-pistol or non-SMG weapon in Fortnite to have a silencer equipped and will likely be a very welcomed addition to any Fortnite player's inventory on their quest to obtaining a victory royale. The new weapon that will soon be added will now join the suppressed pistol and silenced SMG as the weapons in the title's inventory will a silencer equipped. 

With the current scar currently being one of the most powerful weapons in Epic Games' battle royale title, it remains to be seen how strong the developer will make the suppressed assault rifle when it it first introduced. As with other shooter type games, the suppressed assault rifle will likely sacrifice some ability to do damage in order to utilize the benefits of a silencer that will mask the shots of the suppressed assault rifle from enemies nearby.

No specific date was given in regards to when players can expect to see the suppressed assault rifle make its way into Fortnite, but its description of "coming soon" likely points to the next content update for when it will be come available for players to use.
