Splyce Claim Victory in the Halo World Championship
By Zac Cameron ·
Taking down the former champions Tox 4-0, Splyce have shown their dominance in the arena of competitive Halo.

It was a fairy tale ending for Splyce today, battling hard to earn their place in the Grand Final against Tox. It was set to be a showdown between the former champions, and the team that has been showing off their skills at MLG events earlier this year. The final result was a blowout, with Splyce taking down Tox in straight sets to claim an easy 4-0 victory. Here’s a brief breakdown of the series.
Game One
The first battle between these two teams was Capture the Flag on Coliseum. Splyce managed to score first, capturing the flag to give them an early lead on the map. As both teams continued to trade blows, Splyce again managed to secure the flag, setting up a tense situation as they looked poised to claim the first match. After a tense few moment, Splyce picked up key kills and opened space on the lower section of the map, allowing them to juggle the flag to the end and claim victory in the first map.
Game Two
The second clash between these two teams was Slayer on Plaza. Tox struck first, claiming the first kill, however Splyce was able to respond quickly, picking up three kills before securing the sniper rifle for themselves. Both teams continued to skirmish across the map, however it was Splyce who came out on top in each trade, at a minimum trading kill for kill but usually claiming kills without trade. Tox quickly made up for lost ground on the kill count, but Splyce continued to stay several kills ahead as the teams looked for map advantage over each other. Splyce must have felt comfortable in their gameplay, repeatedly punching the fallen bodies of their opponents to show their disrespect, but it seemed as though Tox were unable to respond in kind as they fell further and further behind. Tox seemed to finally find their footing, bringing the score to within three kills, however Splyce quickly shut them down and moved to extend their lead once more. Despite Tox managing to secure the sniper rifle, they would fall behind too far as Splyce claimed victory in this set 50-39.
Game Three
The third battle between these teams was Strongholds on Empire. Tox managed to strike first, pushing Splyce back and claiming the first point, before both teams claimed another leaving Tox with a one point advantage for the time being. After a quick skirmish, Tox pushed for a triple cap, but lost control of one of their other points in the process. Tox continued to rotate across the map, keeping their point advantage as they put points on the board, before Splyce was finally able to steal away a second point for themselves, allowing them to finally put points on the board. After a time, Tox were able to secure one of the other points again, putting them back in the driver’s seat, though Splyce were quick to retake the point. The teams continued to trade the points back and forth before Tox finally managed to triple cap for a brief moment. The counterattack from Splyce stopped that push, but Tox retained control over two points to stay in control of the match. Splyce did eventually manage to secure two points and start scoring again, and though Tox were quick to respond, Splyce managed to triple cap themselves and start putting major points on the board. Tox finally stemmed the bleeding, though Splyce retained control over the map and kept the points flowing as they took the lead for the first time in the match. Tox actually managed to triple cap once more, though Splyce were quick to stop that from affecting them too much. Tox reclaimed the lead as they maintained control over two points, however on the verge of their defeat, Splyce managed to retake a point and equalize the score. With only seconds remaining, Splyce maintained control over their points and end the game 100-95.
Game Four
With match point on the line, the fourth clash between these two teams would be Capture the Flag on Fathom. The teams engaged very quickly, scoring multiple kills across the map. Splyce managed to score first, stealing the flag and carrying it to their point to gain an early lead. Splyce managed to follow up with another quick steal, setting the pace of the game as Tox struggled to play catch-up. Tox finally scored for themselves, keeping the match alive after scoring multiple kills to open space. After creating more space, Tox were able to again capture the flag and keep the match alive. After a tense skirmish, Splyce were finally able to return their flag and capture their enemies, ending the game 3-2 and giving them the series win 4-0.
