Fortnite Community Discovers Instant Healing and Shields Glitch

Making sure that your character has a large amount of health and shields is one of the most important things that Fortnite Battle Royale players can do to increase their chances of capturing those valuable victory royales. Unfortunately, the community has discovered that the latest patch to Fortnite has introduced a bug that makes healing and building up shields way too easy for players.

Community member TyLoo uncovered the glitch and posted it to the game's official subreddit. The glitch consists of a player being able to instantly heal themselves with bandages or increase their shields with potions by activating the Rock Paper Scissors Emote right after initiating the use of the consumable. This allows players to completely get rid of the few seconds of windup it takes to receive the effects of the consumable, thus allowing them to instantly recover from any damage they may have sustained.

With a glitch of this magnitude easily having the ability to create an unfair playing environment for Fortnite, Epic Games has made the community aware they know of the glitch and are working on a fix for it in an upcoming patch. However, the developer did not state an exact time for when players can expect for the fix to be implemented into the game. There has also been no word from Epic Games on if there will be any consequences for the players who utilize this glitch.

While there have been instances of bugs and glitches in Fortnite in the past, this particular one is shaping up to be the most game breaking , as it could easily allow players to win fights or matches that they had no business winning if they had not been using this instant healing and shield equipping bug. For this reason, if there is massive surge in players exploiting this bug, Epic Games may decide that some form of punishment is necessary to deter players from using it, until they are able to remove it from the game.
