Fortnite Emergency Broadcast: Brace For Tilted Towers Meteor Impact!
By Ford James ·
The official Fortnite Twitter page has posted a mysterious image that looks a lot like an emergency alien broadcast and the fans are expecting the end is nigh!
Fortnite’s meteor is expected to crash land on Tilted Towers in just over a week’s time, and players everywhere are speculating what will happen. We think it’s going to destroy the entire map and you can read our full theory here, but with just one week to go, the servers have gone down and the official Fortnite Twitter page has posted an image that looks like an emergency broadcast from the aliens.

Just before the servers went down, players discovered that all of the televisions in the game had changed to display the same image. Users on Reddit have been analysing and dissecting it for the last hour, and /u/lsj021 pointed out that there’s five boxes in the image, and five days left till the end of the season. /u/alleboii9696 goes into much more detail, speculating about morse code and potential voices that can be heard when the emergency broadcast is slowed down. Interestingly, the llama that is shown in the image has crosses for eyes, which is the universal sign to show that something is dead. Could this be the end of loot llamas?!
/u/Chris_Attalus, an Epic Games employee, posted a stickied thread on the subreddit announcing that the servers are now back up, and the downtime was due to unblocking some players that were affected by a backend service update. That seems very suspect though in a time like this; why does something like that require downtime simply to unblock players? We’re journalists, not developers, but it seems unnecessary and implies there’s something bigger going on - to us, anyway.
Things are heating up in the Fortnite universe, and it seems almost certain that the impending doom caused by the meteor is as a result of aliens. What the consequences will be exactly is still to be determined, but in the meantime, read our theory behind the meteor and check out some more leaked skins.
