Ex-Bioware Employee Mocks the Passing of TotalBiscuit

While much of the internet used the opportunity to express their grief and respect for the popular games critic, at least one former Employee of Bioware has landed in hot water for his comments on social media.

Ex-Bioware Employee Mocks the Passing of TotalBiscuit

Earlier this week the news broke that John “TotalBiscuit” Bain had lost his long battle with cancer. While a large majority of the reactions surrounding his passing were mournful and respectful, it seems that at least one former Bioware employee could not resist the opportunity to give voice to his opinions on the popular figure in gaming.

David Crooks, the ex-employee in question, took to his personal Twitter account to celebrate the death of TotalBiscuit. While the Twitter account has since been made private, and the noxious tweets hidden from the public, the rant was swiftly captured via archive and screenshots.

While these initial tweets are bad enough on their own, rest assured that the ensuing rant quickly spiraled into a rage-filled, toxic pile of nonsense that seemed only intended to hurt those who were in mourning at the loss of such an important figure. You can read the full rant here, but be warned, there is nothing nice about it and little to see except a potentially very upsetting diatribe.

With this rant came the inevitable backlash, though with his account quickly made private it seems more likely that the former Bioware employee is waiting for everything to blow over. However, that didn’t stop current Bioware GM Casey Hudson from issuing a statement.

I was extremely disappointed to find out about the comments on the passing of John Bain (@Totalbiscuit) from someone who was previously part of BioWare. Let me be clear that they don’t represent BioWare’s views, EA’s, or my own. Our condolences go out to John and his family.

While it is expected that no one person will be beloved by everyone in the world, it seems a bit crass to wait until the passing of a figure to air your grievances with them.
