Pokemon Quest Cooking Recipes & Ingredients
By Alex McCumbers ·
Pokemon Quest has released on Switch and mobile (iOS/ Android) with a cooking mechanic being at the center of getting new Pokemon. We have every ingredient plus the recipes known so far!

Coinciding with the announcement of Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee was the reveal that a new Pokemon game was immediately available on the Nintendo Switch called Pokemon Quest. Additionally, the game is available for mobile on iOS and Android as of now too! This game is an incredibly simple title that feels more like a mobile game than anything else, even on the Switch; the game even recommends playing by using the touch screen, even though controllers work fine enough. Since the game is 90% preparation before setting out on Expeditions, knowing how to get particular Pokemon through the cooking mechanic is a must and can take a lot of time to figure out. Let’s cut that time down and get to the known recipes so far, all the way from basic Mulligan Stew all the way to Ambrosia of Legends A La Cube!
In order to get new and stronger Pokemon, the player has to put collected items in a cooking pot and then complete so many Expeditions for it to be done. Cooking time varies and in order to keep playing either PM (or Poke Mart) tickets to keep restoring energy or do quests to refill the bar. Players can also wait out the energy refill, like many mobile titles. It’s probably best to hang onto those tickets to buy permanent upgrades for the player’s base. This is done through decorations that can be set and some of them cost quite a few tickets to obtain. This is also why it’s important to always be cooking something to maximize effectiveness and to not need to spend those precious PM tickets.
When putting items in the cooking pot, remember to take note of how many items it takes to fill a slot. For example, if the "Ingredients Amount" number is three in the upper left corner of the cooking pot, than each slot placed will take three of that item. A cooking pot in this same example will need 15 items to fill it, rather than five.
There are also other types of cooking pots that can be unlocked later on, which take more items to fill each slot, but also have the potential to attract stronger Pokemon. So far there are ten types of ingredients known, but we only have information on nine of them at the moment.
To get these ingredients, simply go on expeditions and battle other wild Pokemon. They drop randomly, but on a loss the items can be picked up before you "Give Up" by spending PM tickets. Various tasks also grant ingredients, so be sure to check the quest lists.
Here are those ingredients that we’ll be using in recipes.

Now that we know what we have available to us, let’s get to cooking!
This list is broken down into the amount of slots that need to be used, so for example Icy Rock (3) means that 3 spaces must be filled. Also when the result of the cooking is a Mulligan Stew a la Cube that means that it is a generic meal that is created when the ingredients used don’t fit into one of these recipes.

Using these recipes, the player can pick and choose what type of Pokemon they need, as type advantage is an easier way to beat levels with higher power ratings. We were able to clear levels 500 points above our team by having the right type of Pokemon, at least in the early levels. Also Lapras is as defensive as always and can stonewall opponents pretty well.
How Do You Get Multiple Cooking Pots?
In addition to the first cooking pot when the game begins, multiple cooking pots are available via progressing through the game. As the decoration options allows players to drop more pots into the Base Camp, having multiple allows the number of dishes you can cook at the same time to increase by 1 for each. Within the microtransactions, purchasing the Expednition, Great Expedition, and Ultra Expedition Packs each give you a single extra pot, where buying all three (or the Expedition 3-Pack) would increase your amount of useable pots by 3 total.
In addition, each pot offers possible stat bonuses as they progress.
Normal Pot
Requires: 3 of each ingredient
Stat Bonus: 0
IV Range: 1-10
Bronze Pot
Requires: 10 of each ingredient
Level Range: 20+
Stat Bonus: +50
IV Range: 0-50
Silver Pot
Requires: 15 of each ingredient
Level Range: 40+
Stat Bonus: +100
IV Range: 0-100
Gold Pot
Requires: 20 of each ingredient
Level Range: 70+
Stat Bonus: +300
IV Range: 1-100
Obtain: After beating Mewtwo
Additionally, the better the pot, the higher the minimum level of Pokemon it attracts. Evolved Pokemon won't show up with even a Gold Pot, but level 70 and above is a good starting point to get them to evolve quickly.
What about the Ambrosia of Legends à la Cube?
The Ambrosia of Legends (a la cube) appears to take form of a post-game based ordeal, which means the Mystical Shell item is not available until after beating Mewtwo in the final main game level. This could likely also be given away as items in a future event, not unlike all prior Pokemon games of the past have had. These events usually manifest as Mystery Gifts in core pokemon games, Pokemon GO, and even side games from the series.
Once Mewtwo has been beaten, however, the items become drops during the additional levels that open up after. But, be warned, your team needs to be high leveled to even make it far in these.
We will be updating this entire guide as more information becomes available, including the Ambrosia of Legends or any further changes to the recipes.
