Pro teams are throwing down, practicing hard, and gearing up for the League of Legends Championship Series, and at least one team is shaking up its foundation to become stronger. North American Echo Fox has traded players with Cloud9 and moved other players around in its roster for the upcoming NA LCS.

The move was announced in a press release from Echo Fox on July 26, 2018. Support player Wang "Feng" Xiao-Feng, who joined the team in June 2018 is headed to Cloud9 in exchange for Andy “Smoothie” Ta. Ta is expected to practice with the team and be ready to compete in time for the start of the NA LCS season.

In addition to the trade with Cloud9, Echo Fox has made some internal changes as well. Lawrence “Lost” Hui is rising up from Echo Fox’s Academy team to take up the role of AD Carry on the team, replacing Johnny “Altec” Ru who has been released. Lost made a name from himself recently, rising into Challenger rank and becoming one of the top 100 League of Legends players in the world. He will also see action beside Smoothie when the new season of NA LCS begins.

Echo Fox President Jared Jeffries is delighted to have veteran Smoothie and newcomer Lost as new members in the active Echo Fox League of Legends stable.

“Having both Smoothie and Lost on our starting roster is very exciting for everyone at Echo Fox,” said President of Echo Fox, Jared Jeffries. “Smoothie had been a leading player during his time on Cloud9 and Lost has shown incredible growth on our Academy team. Both players show a lot of promise so we look forward to seeing what they can do.”

Echo Fox has had good runs recently in the North American scene, coming in 3rd in the 2018 Spring Split and holding down a 1st place position, tied with Team Liquid, FlyQuest, and 100 Thieves midway through the 2018 Summer Split.

It will be interesting to see what Lost and Smoothie bring to the table when the real action of the NA LCS starts. Will they be able to mesh with the solid foundation and strong antics the team has already?
