EU LCS Match Recaps for Day 1 of Week 7
By Zac Cameron ·
All the action as the European League of Legends Championship Series kicks off Week 7 of the Summer Split.

There are only a few weeks left for the regular season of the EU LCS Summer Split, which means that every game becomes more and more important to win. As the clock slowly ticks down, some teams are still battling to secure their place in the standings, while others are still struggling to achieve their goals. Here’s a brief breakdown of the games.
Unicorns of Love vs Splyce
An interesting game to kick off the day, as both teams played it fairly safe early on to avoid possibly pushing too hard and overcommitting. Splyce were able to secure the first Dragon of the match, and not long after picking up the first tower and first blood for the game as well. Despite these early advantages, it still took some time for Splyce to close out the game, though they were eventually able to secure the victory overall.
FC Schalke 04 vs ROCCAT
The second match of the day featured some interesting swings between the two teams, though Schalke certainly walked away looking the stronger of the two. Schalke were able to take a lead early on that they built upon for much of the game, however ROCCAT did swing things back dramatically, closing a gold deficit of almost 7k at one stage. despite their resurgence, ROCCAT could not keep their momentum going, as Schalke once again took control of the map and picked up another victory.
G2 Esports vs H2K
Crossing the half-way point for the day saw G2 again demonstrating the skill that has made them a dominant team in the EU LCS for so long. The early and mid-game was completely run by G2, and though H2K did eventually find some kills and objectives towards the end of the match, G2’s lead was insurmountable by that stage as they claim yet another victory.
Misfits Gaming vs Giants Gaming
The battle between these two teams produced an interesting result, given the previous match history for Misfits. Giants seemed to be in full control of this clash, picking up the lions share of objectives and kills before ultimately ending the game with a victory. For Misfits, their strategy will need to be rethought if they hope to take on the other top teams in the EU LCS.
Team Vitality vs Fnatic
The final match of the day was a bloody one, with both teams prepared to do battle for every possible advantage. This was the kind of performance Vitality fans were expecting after their excellent Spring Split run, while Fnatic will need to go back to the drawing board if they want to salvage their week.
With the matches for day 1 wrapped up, the teams of the EU LCS will need to head back and plan for tomorrow. There are only a couple of weeks in the regular season left after this, so each victory is essential if they want a chance to represent their region at the World Championships.
