Fortnite v5.40 Update Patch Notes - Drum Gun Vaulted

Tuesday, September 11th has seen Epic Games make a few major changes to its massively popular battle royale title of Fortnite with the implementation of the v5.40 content update. The patch notes for the v5.40 content update for Fortnite are not the longest that the title has seen in its history, but a major change that was revealed was that Epic Games has decided to vault the infamous Drum Gun weapon. 

The Drum Gun has been a source of controversy for the Fortnite community ever since it was first introduced into Fortnite, as a large majority of players felt that its large magazine size, high power, and ability to destroy structures with ease was disruptive to the overall meta and health of Fortnite. After some time, it looks as though Epic Games has heard the pleas of the community address the Drum Gun and decided that vaulting it in the patch notes for the v5.40 content update was the best course of action.

LIMITED TIME MODE: THE GETAWAY

Bug Fixes

- Players in the Getaway LTM can no longer land on the van without building.

- Reduced the Victory music at the end of a match.

- Jewel will no longer appear in inventory hotbar after being put in the Down-But-Not-Out state.

- Player models will no longer get stuck under the van after winning a match.

- Player models and items will no longer fall to the ground after winning a match.

WEAPONS + ITEMS

- Suppressed Assault Rifle Added.

- Sneaky weapon that rewards trigger discipline with precision.

- Can be found in Vending Machines, floor loot, Treasure Chests, and Supply Drops.

- Available in Epic and Legendary Variants.

- 32/33 damage per shot.

- Vaulted Drum Gun

ART+ANIMATION

- Enforcer Outfit no longer appears distorted to other clients from certain distances.

PERFORMANCE

- Sub-Region Matchmaking added for Southeast Asia.
