Fortnite Guided Missile Possibly Disabled due to Bug Encountered by Ninja

The Guided Missile has seen its fair of issues throughout its lifespan in Fortnite Battle Royale, and Friday, October 12th saw the latest instance of the Guided Missile being in the spotlight for the wrong reasons. Epic Games has temporarily disabled the Guided Missile weapon for Fortnite in order to investigate an issue that the weapon has been having. While the official Fortnite Twitter account did not state exactly what issue of the Guided Missile was being investigated, the community for the battle royale title has begun to speculate what issues could have caused the disabling of the weapon with a bug encountered by Twitch streamer Tyler "Ninja" Belvins being one of the culprits.

Wednesday, October 10th saw Ninja streaming a match of Fortnite with the likes of Ben "DrLupo" Lupo, TimTheTatMan and professional Major League Baseball player Trevor May when the Twitch star encountered a very odd bug with the Guided Missile weapon three times in a row. This particular bug saw the rocket fired from the Fortnite weapon to immediately fly straight even when aimed in the air which in turn caused Ninja to blow himself up.

However, there is another major game breaking bug that has been occurring with the Guided Missile in Fortnite that some members of the community believe could be the reasoning behind why Epic Games disabled the weapon today.

Players have found that if you shoot rapidly with the Guided Missile while consuming a Shadow Stone that your character will become invisible and still have the ability to use weapons. This is particular troublesome as players should not be able to use weapons while they are invisible from the effect of the Shadow Stones.

It remains unclear whether one or both of these bugs were the causes behind Epic Games deciding to disable the Guided Missile from Fortnite. All that is certain is that Ninja and the rest of the community for the popular battle royale title will be happy to see the weapon gone until its issues are fixed for good.
