Ninja Responds to Fortnite Reddit Controversy Regarding Banned Player

Massively popular Fortnite Twitch streamer Tyler "Ninja" Belvins has been at the center of two recent controversies surrounding his use of the Fortnite Battle Royale report system. The latest situation saw an Australian Fortnite player create a video claiming he had been banned by Epic Games because of report made by Ninja where the streamer had reported a player for having higher ping than him which is not an offense worthy of a ban.

The video made its way onto the official subreddit for Fortnite Battle Royale and soon was upvoted tens of thousands of times and had a large portion of the community believing that Epic Games had banned a player because the well known content creator had reported him.

However, Epic Games responded to the controversy and explained that the player in question had changed his username to match the name of the player that Ninja had reported for having higher ping in order to make it look like he had been banned because of the report made by the Twitch personality.

With other evidence coming from the stream of the Australian player of Cheraxo where the player had stated that he had ruined the career of Ninja, many members of the community have come to the conclusion that the player had manipulated the situation in order to conduct a Reddit witch hunt against Ninja regarding him being banned.

Sunday, November 18th saw the high profile Fortnite personality take to Twitter to publicly respond to the situation for the first time in response to a post by fellow streamer Ben "DrLupo" Lupo that was made in support of the streamer.

"Worst part is the majority of people who saw that reddit post wont see what you just tweeted and will continue to think he was banned," said Ninja.

Because of the Fortnite Reddit post that had alleged Epic Games had banned a player because of a report made by Ninja having gained so much exposure, the streamer believes that unfortunately many of the Fortnite players who saw the trending Reddit post will not see the reality of the situation and will continue to think that Epic Games had banned a player because of Ninja.

While many members of the Fortnite community had come to the defense of Ninja as Epic Games confirmed that the Australian player had manipulated the situation in order to tarnish the reputation of Ninja, others believe that Ninja should not have reported a player for having a higher ping than him in the first place and that the Twitch streamer should face consequences for abusing the Fortnite report system.
