Two Players Were Caught Teaming in the Fortnite Winter Royale Qualifiers

Saturday, November 24th saw the first day of online qualifiers take place for the $1,000,000 Fortnite Winter Royale tournament that will see any players in the regions of North America and Europe have a chance to grab a slice of the massive prize pool. The Fortnite Winter Royale is a solo competition, as players compete to collect the most points they can in a single qualifying session by securing high placements and elimination counts. However, the rules of the Fortnite Winter Royale that include it being a solo event did not stop two players from breaking the rules and teaming together during the European Qualifiers earlier today.

Fortnite Winter Royale Rules Broken

Community member FudginatorDeluxe posted footage onto the competitive Fortnite subreddit that showed two players in the European Qualifiers for the event teaming together. The two players enter the location riding a quadcrasher together and then proceed to fight together when enemies began appearing around them.

While there was a great deal of positive feedback from the community regarding how any player was granted the opportunity to compete for a shot at securing a share of the $1,000,000 prize pool in the Fortnite Winter Royale, there were concerns that players would take advantage of the online only competitive environment and cheat in order to rise to the top of the standings. As with the video above, it looks as though some of these concerns have been realized with two players having been caught teaming together in the solo tournament.

FudginatorDeluxe stated that they had reported the two players for their breaking of the Winter Royale rules and that he had posted the footage above onto the competitive Fortnite subreddit in order to hopefully get more exposure to the evidence of the two players cheating in the European Qualifiers for the Winter Royale tournament on Saturday, November 24th.

It remains to be seen how Epic Games will respond to what could possibly be a large amount of cheating activity in the online environment of the Fortnite Winter Royale tournament, as the prize pool of $1,000,000 will likely be tempting for players to gain any kind of advantage they can over their opponents.
