Tfue, Daequan, Dr Lupo, NickMercs Fail To Qualify For Fortnite Winter Royale
By Ford James ·
A number of high profile Fortnite pro players have failed to qualify for the Winter Royale finals after the qualification matches came to a close this weekend.

The Fortnite Winter Royale qualification matches took place over the weekend and they were open to everyone. Whether you’re a pro or a first time Fortnite player, you could have jumped into the Winter Royale qualifiers and tested your mettle against other players vying for a chance to make it to the top. It was the perfect opportunity for some lesser known players to get their name out there and beat the very best. Unfortunately for some pros, they couldn’t quite perform when it mattered.

Turner “Tfue” Tenney, the highest earning Fortnite player ever and member of FaZe Clan, is one pro that scuffed his chance on qualifying for the Fortnite Winter Royale. “27 27 25 25 I’m trash” he tweeted it out, referencing the fact that in the four qualifying sessions he played, 27 was his highest score. The lowest qualifying score was 28 though so he missed out on the tournament by a mere one point.
Wild stream fam, haven’t grinded Fortnite like that ever. Wasn’t able to qualify but big congrats to everybody that did, GL in the next round. Also, Emus Bday is tomorrow, gonna be off the grid. Much love, goodnight! ❤️

Nick “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff, a pro player famous for competing against PC players with a controller, also failed to qualify. He was much happier about the situation though, reacting positively. “Wild stream fam, haven’t grinded Fortnite like that ever,” read his tweet. “Wasn’t able to qualify but big congrats to everybody that did, GL in the next round.”
Got 28 points again. Didn't qualify but I've become a much better fortnite player and had a good time. Definitely some work to be done to make it more enjoyable but overall I had a great time.

SypherPK, pro player and streamer for Luminosity also failed to qualify but didn’t take it too harshly. He got 28 points so he was undoubtedly just one point away from qualifying. “Didn't qualify but I've become a much better fortnite player and had a good time. Definitely some work to be done to make it more enjoyable but overall I had a great time.”
There’s a number of other notable players that didn’t qualify too. Daequan, pro player for TSM didn’t make it, neither did Dr Lupo. CourageJD failed to qualify after he said he was “out till 3 AM with friends” the night before, while TSM Hamlinz doesn’t appear in the top 200 either. No doubt all the pros who didn’t make it will be disappointed. Tfue especially, as he was killed by a hacker in one of his games.
